New York has been well equipped to serve gay tourists for decades, and every year new bars and clubs open to entertain LGBT locals and visitors from all over the world.
Restaurants
Hell’s Kitchen is widely regarded as the best place in the city to go and eat. Here you will find excellent restaurants catering to a wide range of tastes and budgets, all within a few blocks from Times Square. Room Service is a beautiful boutique Thai restaurant that serves authentic dishes at excellent prices and is well worth a visit.

Shopping
New York is famous the world over for its gigantic department stores. You could spend a day in just one of these enormous 5 or 6 floor buildings, some of which take up entire blocks! Head to Macy’s, Bloomingdales or Saks on Fifth Avenue if you are looking for high-end fashion and accessories. FAO Schwarz is one of the biggest toy shops in the world and is well worth a visit to reconnect with your inner child. It is just across the road from Tiffany’s flagship store so you can end the day picking out some diamonds to match your new Lego set.
Accommodation
This might be the city that never sleeps, but you will definitely want to rest your eyes for a few hours or so before you go back outside and take in all of New York’s glory. All of New York’s upmarket and chain hotels welcome LGBT visitors, but there are some which specifically market themselves as gay-friendly. Chelsea Pines Inn is described as the friendliest place in town, and the GEM Hotel in Chelsea is a beautiful boutique hotel which attracts many gay guests.
