Amerika, nestled in Buenos Aires' Almagro neighborhood, stands as a prominent fixture in the city's LGBTQ+ nightlife. Since its inception in 1999, this expansive club has been a go-to spot for both locals and visitors seeking an inclusive party atmosphere.
The venue boasts three distinct dance floors—Continental, Caribbean, and Crystal—each offering a unique musical vibe. From electronic beats to Latin rhythms, there's something to suit diverse musical tastes. With a capacity to accommodate up to 1,866 guests, Amerika ensures ample space for dancing and socializing.
One of Amerika's standout features is its open bar policy on certain nights, allowing patrons to enjoy a variety of drinks throughout the evening. The club operates from Thursday through Sunday, with doors typically opening around midnight and the party continuing into the early morning hours.
Beyond the dance floors, Amerika offers additional amenities like a chill-out lounge and a dark room, catering to those seeking a more relaxed or intimate experience. The club frequently hosts themed events, including drag shows and live DJ performances, contributing to its dynamic and ever-evolving party scene.
While primarily known as a gay club, Amerika embraces a diverse crowd, welcoming individuals of all orientations. Its inclusive environment and vibrant atmosphere have solidified its reputation as a must-visit destination for anyone looking to experience Buenos Aires' dynamic nightlife.
Absolutely bad. I’m a local who decided to visit this place again after 10 years and really wasn’t expecting any of what I found. The music is extremely bad, no cute ppl at all, and the ticket was way too expensive (19 USD). Don’t ever visit this place!
Paid the equivalent of 13usd for a rain party. I could see the rain apparatus over the dance floor, but by 2:30 am, it hadn't rained, and it was HOT and HUMID because they don't turn on their air conditioning. Also, they allow smoking for the FEW to affect the MANY when we know secondhand smoke is cancer-causing. Not impressed by the crowd or the DJ's. The crowd is sketchy. Other reviews mention AMERIKA being notorious for pickpockets & phone thieves. Lastly, if you expect the DJ to take you on a magical journey, you'll be disappointed. The play random music, pop to reggaeton, that they don't know how to mix, so expect music to pause often.
This place has changed drastically for the worse since my last visit in 2019. Security searched my bag upon entering. The cover charge is roughly $15.5 USD and the wells drinks (beer) are free (they give you a refillable cup). I felt like everybody there was way overserved. I had a drunk guy shove past me in the bathroom and plenty of handsy drunk people shoving and moving past me, someone grabbing around my shoulders and someone spilling/throwing a drink on me from above as I descended the staircase. The club was also way above capacity and crowded. There was an assault in the bathroom on the ground level and security ejected the disorderly patron and closed the bathroom for a few minutes to investigate. The upstairs left balcony used to be a seedy area with blackout curtains and seating, but that has been removed. In my opinion that is not an improvement. I finally was irritated by the bad, mean drunk energy and left after an hour. Upon exiting, security searched my bag and made me remove my cellphone and unlock it with my Face ID.
I went because my research told me this was one of BA's biggest gay clubs. And it is. Two levels. The best ventilation is on the ground floor right beside the center bar. I appreciate that they have spots throughout with great ventilation as it heats up pretty quickly. It is an "open bar" concept which I can appreciate but it is VERY confusing especially for visitors because you can't get every drink from every bar. Some only serve beer and others only serve gin and tonic etc. Also it being an open bar meant that the lineup was kind of ridiculously long.I would go again, good age range and it appeared to appeal to everyone.Music was great and so were the people. I didnt stay the entire night I ended up going to Club69 as it still remains the best gay ol' time I had in Buenos Aires.
Don’t bother with this place. You pay a cover and have open bar access. But the drinks are watered down and gross. I don’t mind paying for a drink I’d like to order (vodka and soda), but you can’t do that. The only option is the sub par drinks they give you. We wanted to dance but just ended up leaving.
