Bar Rendezvous, tucked away on Müllerstraße 54 in Munich's vibrant Glockenbachviertel, has been a staple in the city's gay scene since its opening in 1999. Just a short stroll from the Sendlinger Tor metro station, this unpretentious spot offers a cozy atmosphere where patrons can unwind and socialize.
The bar is known for its lively themed nights, including karaoke sessions and drag performances, adding a splash of entertainment to the evening. With a diverse selection of beers and other alcoholic beverages at reasonable prices, it's a go-to spot for those seeking a relaxed night out.
Open daily from 6 PM until late, Bar Rendezvous attracts a mixed crowd, from up-and-coming gays and their friends to the occasional older admirer. The intimate space, adorned with dried flowers hanging from the ceiling, often gets packed, creating a spirited ambiance where people hang out or dance in the window.
Whether you're in the mood for cheesy Euro-pop tunes or looking to engage in friendly conversations, Bar Rendezvous provides a welcoming environment away from the more upscale parts of the city. It's a place where flirting is part of the evening program, making it a charming spot to experience Munich's gay nightlife.
Unfortunately, this bar was a very bad experience. The bartender simply didn’t understand what drink we were ordering—I had to repeat it three times. He brought a completely different drink, and when I told him it wasn’t what I had ordered, he took the drinks away and threw the money at us. Absolutely a no-go! Never again!
As a lesbian looking for a friendly place to grab a drink on a Friday night in Munich, it was extremely disappointing to be greeted at the door with a paper sign that read “men only after 8pm,” as if lesbians aren’t to be seen out after dark. My gay male friend and I had been walking around looking for a place to hang out around like-minded people. Exclusion is such a turn-off.
It is a nice gay-friendly bar, with fun and nice people, I just can't grant 5 stars because the bar Is cash-only (although apparently in Munich is quiet common) and cause the waiters were a bit tough I would say, the girl was a bit rough with someone (not with me at least) and the guy gave me less change with no reason, and when I ask some euro was missing, he just gave me another 50cent and say just bye
It’s a fun neighborhood gay bar with great servers. During our last visit, we closed the bar down every night. The customers are easy to strike up a conversation with and quickly develop friendships.
I got k1cked out vi0lently by the doorman yesterday, because I was holding the door for a few seconds for someone to exit, as I was quietly sitting on a stool beside the door. I wasn't even allowed to go inside to get my jacket. He sh0uted at me, grabbed me and pushed me out. This picture was taken a few minutes before it happened. I've never experienced such vi0lence at an allegedly "safe space" in my life.
