About
Flax on Greifswalder Straße is your one-stop shop for daytime chill and weekend revelry. During the week, it's a laid-back café-bar with a "living room" vibe – think comfy sofas, perfect for catching up with mates over coffee or a post-work beer. But don't be fooled by the daytime duds. Come nightfall (especially weekends), Flax sheds its skin and transforms into a full-blown party zone.
The music selection leans towards pop anthems, schlager (guilty pleasures, anyone?), and even disco classics. It's all about singing along and throwing shapes under the mirrored disco ball – a not-so-subtle hint that things get pretty lively here.
The crowd is pleasantly mixed, with a strong showing from Berlin's gay scene. So, whether you're looking for a casual hangout with a side of coffee cake or a camp night of dancing with your chosen family, Flax has you covered. Plus, its central location near Prenzlauer Berg makes it super accessible for all your gay bar-hopping needs.
So, next time you're in Berlin, swing by Flax for a drink (or two) and see which vibe you dig – daytime ease or weekend disco fever. You might just find your new favorite hangout.
We were there saturday and it was awesome! We celebrated the 30th bday from a friend and the location was already fully decorated, at 12 they put birthday songs and they let us put our own music and bring food! It was super fun!I would definetly recommend it for anyone wanting to celebrate their birthdays!
Celebrated my 30. BIRTHDAY over there, best location in the city for that! We played tabletennis, the drinks were tasty as always and the atmosphere was just super chill! Steffen was taking so well care of our wellbeing! Everything was super uncomplicated! I would 100% recommend celebrating there - also just going for some drinks, someone in the world always has a birthday :)Danke!!
We celebrated the birthday of my friend there and we had an absolute blast. Steffen, the owner of the place, is a lovely person who knows how to create a great party atmosphere. He’s been around for 30 years doing this with Flaxx and you can easily guess that he has mastered the game. The place is authentically decorated with some random and funny elements. The karaoke system is great! Just as lights and the fog machine. This for sure wasn’t the last birthday party that we celebrated there!
I was at Flax for a birthday party and enjoyed it so much!!! The place has a fun atmosphere, the staff were so friendly and helpful! Definitely would go there again ☺️
I visited for a 60th party and it was a fabulous night! Fun karaoke, nice food, friendly staff and great drinks. I enjoyed the layout in particular (it has cool little spaces tucked here and there). Also beer pong! I was rubbish but it was fun, so thanks to the guys I played with as well. If I’m ever back in Berlin, I’ll be very happy to return.
Super friendly staff, amazing atmosphere and the prices are pretty affordable. LGBTQ friendly, open to everyone. Karaoke is also included on special days and the best part; no one would boo you out even if you're voice sounds like a car crash set on fire- and that's awesome! In other words: I recommend you to check it out for yourself and have fun!
Had a fabulous time there on Saturday 13th April celebrating a friend's birthday. I'd highly recommend it as a party venue. Great karaoke and excellent cocktails.
I went there on a Saturday for a karaoke party. There is plenty of stuff to sing and you can play your own music if you like to.The location is nicely decorated in the style of the 80ies and the staff is super nice.
Stefan the owner, host and bar man has been doing it for over 3 decades and he's really good at it. Being the only person working most of the time means sometimes service can be slower but he's super nice and very efficient.
