About
Nestled in the heart of Prague’s historic Old Town, Friends Bar is a go-to spot for the city’s LGBTQ+ crowd and allies alike. Housed in an atmospheric cellar, this lively gay bar mixes cozy vibes with high-energy parties. Whether you're here for a laid-back drink or a wild night of dancing, Friends always delivers. With affordable cocktails and daily events, there’s always something happening. Karaoke nights, drag shows, and throwback music evenings keep the atmosphere electric.
Known for its inclusive, fun-loving crowd, Friends attracts a mix of locals and tourists. The intimate dance floor might be small, but the energy is massive. Don’t miss the themed party nights like Travesty Thursdays or the popular DJ sets on weekends that keep the party going until the early hours. The bar’s happy hour offers tempting deals on cocktails, which means you can enjoy more for less. Plus, it’s open until the last guest leaves, making it one of Prague's most reliable spots for an unforgettable night.
If you're in Prague and looking for a vibrant LGBTQ+ venue with a welcoming vibe, Friends Bar is definitely a must-see. Come for the cocktails, stay for the party, and leave with new friends.
I went to the bar with my friend a couple weeks ago and we had the best time during quizz night! The cocktails were perfect and Joanne did an amazing job hyping the crowd up. I will definitely be back!
It is quite sad to see any LGBT place trying to attract as well tourists and yet having not even one song in English. Bar and wardrobe staff were nice on any end but DJ saying there is only Czech music playing is kinda lame, sorry
Club security incredibly aggressive. Was kicked out of club and bruises were left on my arm. Not a safe place! Amazing they claim, based on their own private footage (which they don't show to anyone else) that I am lying. If they would apologize I would forget it
The club is nice, but there was a weird moment with a bartender. I paid by card for beers all night, and at almost 4 AM—right after my friend paid with his card—the bartender told me they weren’t accepting cards anymore. Suddenly, just like that. It would be better if they made up their mind about card payments 🙂
Worse club ever... Not LGBT friendly at all!!! The night we where there, a group of a straight men entered the club they were having their "guy's night" they were annoying my friend, joking about my gay friend, and obviously were making fun of community. Security just let them enter because they paid... DO NOT RECOMMEND EVER!!!
Been there with a friend it was filled with man that are trying to get woman, everyone was so touchy and this is not the securitys fault. But when someone touched me on my but* ı told them on security and they told me “ what do you expected its a clup we dont care if you are touched stop yelling at him and they told me if he is going to be out im also going to be escorted. Its not safe security does not care if you are h@rrasted by men and blame it on you. Even after he accepted what he did. I told 3 security man and 2 of them laughed about it one tried to help but the others stopped him from getting the guy out . They said “ accept it and stop talking we dont care its a clup . It was my worst night this shouldnt be the return of trying to have fun . At least get the guys out when they are dangerou$ to woman . But i guess you dont care once you get the fee . Also ı checked and you told ppl to tell it to security and they would solve it right away. No they dont they blame it on you and be aggressiv* to you. Wish it was a fun night .
This place is O V E R R A T E D ! everything about it is somewhere between “mid” - “highly suspicious/borderline uncomfortable” - “what the actual heck? i thought we were at a GAY CLUB”.You’ll do better if you don’t get tempted by how crowded it (sometimes, rarely) gets and rather go somewhere else. Not that there are many good queer clubs in town, but literally every single one is better than Friends).
Worst bar ever, I have been ordering drinks and tipping each bar tender to the maximum which 30%. When I asked for water which is 45 in their currency, they’re like oh it’s going to be 100??? Literally when you treat them in a nice way and want them to have more money (especially when I knew that they get 100% of the tips) they still act cruel to you. Keep in mind that I was active in their bar and joined into +4 karaoke to make the place more alive. You don’t wanna be there trust me, if they’re not nice to one of their best customers god knows how they will be to normal ones.
This is based on my experience on a Friday night. If you're specifically seeking an exclusively gay club, this might not be the best choice. While it's labeled as a gay club, the overall vibe and atmosphere are similar to any other general bar or club in the city. The crowd tends to be quite young, with many people around 18 to 20 years old, and you'll notice a significant presence of straight men and women, who make up the majority. The music is enjoyable, but if you're expecting a predominantly gay crowd, you might be disappointed, as straight patrons and young women dominate the scene.
Superb LGBT club in Prague. The vibe is nice and romantic, with an accepting crowd of all kinds of couple. The bartenders are kind and down-to-earth. Marek and Honza are very classy and kind.
Security guys here are not professional at all.... one of them broke my bracalet and send me out without reason. I would recommend to avoid this place. The manager did nothing when explained the situation..... well guys I already saw your answer, and it is totally false thatbyou offered me to return the entrance fee when you kicked me out. I Will go today, just to get my moneu back at least
It's a very lovely club, the stuff is amazing, drinks are very good and the prices are very affordable. I want to thank Michal for his help, he postponed the closure of the club to help me to find my wallet. Rarely you'll find such amazing people. Have fun!
Went for their drag night which they advertised on Facebook as free entry, but they actually charged a fee on the door. I mentioned this to the door staff who were incredibly rude and couldn't care less. The queens were fun, but I'll go to their shows elsewhere in future.Edit: The fee for the cloakroom was in addition to the entry fee, so that was not the misunderstanding. Whether or not it's normal in other establishments is not an excuse.
Small subterranean bar which charges entry fee (even on Sunday). We went around 9:30-10p and we're the only ones there. Had a drink and left with the empty...
So. As a foreigner. I was stopped by the coat check and told i had to pay (although small) fee to check my coat. . Locals are all wearing their coats....
Small town gay smoke-filled club vibe in Prague, which is just fine with me, except for the 'scam' that happened to be there by the staff. On the plus,...
