About
The poste house (AKA the postie) is an establishment built in 1820! known for being one of the cheapest and best gay friendly pubs around, loved by all ages.
This pub is by far my favourite in Liverpool, always a great atmosphere and made to feel welcome. I just want to say that the staff, Rebecca and Yaz are great, very professional, funny and friendly, wish other bars were the same. No 1 for me
My husband and I ABSOLUTELY loved this place. Mom (sorry I don’t know your name) is such an incredible human being! And def treated us like family! We were so happy to have stumbled upon this place. Thanks for being so welcoming! We will def return if we come back to Liverpool!
Went for a couple of pints last night. An older man made my friend really uncomfortable, and when we confronted him the bar staff said to leave him alone and accused us of being aggressive. Disappointing for a bar that markets itself as accepting, I was considering coming more but after that I definitely won't be returning.
Lovely old Liverpool pub. Don't know if they do food. My guess would be no, so I couldn't give a food score. Cheap cheerful old pub, plenty of characters and old fixtures. Very cosy, in a gay friendly area. Quite small and a minimum £5 charge if you pay on card. Small outdoor yard at the back. Looses 1 star as the whole time we were in there, they were playing nothing but the Beatles on a loop, might be a bonus for some.
I've been going this bar for 19 years on and off but sadly its lost its way and slowly going down hill. My reason for this post is I was actually attacked by a member of staff from behind the bar so clearly would not recommend this venue any more.
Great pub got in for last half hour ,had great chat with irsh bar maid ,got a triple vodka and tonic for £5 ! Great value, the decor has changed since i was in a few years back ,less Everton stuff on the walls and more pictures now .the floor seems to have been spruced up as well ,fantastic little pub ,will visit again next time I'm in Liverpool

The best club ever went I’m coming to this club from the last one year from Scotland every weekend the service is amazing communities are really friendly
When you walk in you think naaahh this is an old man's pub but you go upstairs and find this tiny little bar full of people dancing, such a laugh. Drinks are dirt cheap too
Adolf Hitler visited this pub many times while staying with his half brother Alois in Liverpool. Hitler was 23 years old, and the year was 1912. This was his favourite pub.
Use to be a lovely little pub when Jackie was there now full of younger staff full of attitude it's a shame because could be a great little bar but times are changing an not for the better
Quaint. Downstairs could be out of the 1950s with a mixed traditional looking older crowd. I kept expecting Annie Walker to come out from behind the bar. A friendly lot though.Upstairs is completely different! Had a fabulous night experiencing a variety of talent on the Karaoke - loud, brash & fun! It was a very inclusive crowd, even though I was on my own, I didn't feel excluded. The place was packed to the rafters! It loses a star only because the guy behind the bar was not very welcoming when I arrived. However very glad to have stayed. I Even went back the next night. Equally friending inclusive crowd then too!!
If you are in Liverpool, this place is a must. Mary was so warm and hospitable (even to this blue nose). I wish we could have spent more time in this pub. The hot whiskey was great and I'm not sure if everyone gets a shamrock on the top of their Guinness or just her favorite Kansas Citians!
Well, well, well. The Poste House. For me personally, those are three words which conjure an array of images and emotions. The Poste House in an entity. And...
