Tucked away in Prague's charming Nové Město district, Q Café is a vibrant LGBTQ+ hotspot with a laid-back, welcoming vibe. The cozy café has become a go-to spot for both locals and tourists alike, whether they’re popping in for a quick coffee or staying for its fun pre-club atmosphere.
With its rainbow flag proudly displayed, Q Café is an inclusive space that has fostered a strong community. It's not uncommon to see people leaning against the walls outside, chatting and enjoying the vibrant energy that radiates from the venue. Inside, you can grab a ""queer beer,"" try their limited-edition queer rosé wine, or indulge in something nostalgic like ""communist Coke"" or raspberry soda.
Though it’s undeniably a queer venue, the café has a broad appeal, drawing in a diverse crowd for its comfortable atmosphere and friendly service. Many patrons find it an ideal spot to catch up with friends or even get some work done during quieter hours.
Open until late, this café is perfect for both a casual day out or as a starting point before hitting Prague's nightlife scene. Whether you’re looking to relax or socialize, Q Café is the place to be in Prague's LGBTQ+ scene.
We were here almost every night. The service was great. Very attentive and pleasant. The crowd can be a little standoffish but that could be said of many of the gay bars I've been to all over the world. The space is cozy but nicely designed. There's also a large amount of space in the basement which is bright and cheery. We only drank beer but having worked in hospitality myself, I watched the bartenders prepare cocktails and they are properly made and well presented if you prefer them to beer or wine. If you're in Prague and want a drink, check this place out. Of the 3 gay bars we went to during our stay, this one definitely stood out.
This is a cute and sedate bar. Perfect for an end of the week beer and cocktail. The ambience is delightfully conducive to meeting with friends or sitting at the bar by yourself.
A wonderful well laid out venue. Attentive staff. Good quality drinks and upbeat atmosphere. We found during week days (went four times). It was full upstairs and then others would go downstairs. It would fill up more after 10 pm as the doors close to stop outside noise.Found mixtures of gay. Lesbian. Straight. Friends. Couples. The dog is definitely the boss!Would happily go again when next there.
As lesbian women in a new city, we hoped this would be as welcoming as other LGBT bars we have been to around Europe and North America. Not at all.We walked in to a full bar (all men), and not a smile in sight. Some patrons looked unhappily at us, but most didn't pay any attention which is fine, just not a place where one feels welcome. We were told to go sit downstairs...It was an empty room with no ambience. I know there is only so much seating available upstairs, but being the only two people in a dark basement wasn't pleasant. Why don't they encourage it to be more evenly distributed knowing it gets so busy? We immediately felt shunned and unwelcome.Server was fine, I guess. Not friendly but not rude. It was like he knew we would not be staying because as soon as I came upstairs, he was ready with the receipt and machine. Maybe they purposely want people like us to leave so they make it as uncomfortable as possible for us?Cocktails were not good. While I know bars like this often have sweet, simple, basic cocktails, this was just weird. It was called a Donkey, I think? (Based on a mule but made a ginger beer that didn't match well with the tea liqueur.) At least it wasn't that expensive. Not sure if there is much booze in these drinks though, but if there is, it's decent value. (About €7).My wife could barely drink hers, but considering we were relegated to the basement, nobody came to check how we were doing. After a few sips in this bland basement, we wanted to leave anyway.Quite possibly the worst, least welcoming LGBTQ bar I have ever been to and it was pretty unwelcoming here as a member of the community. It doesn't even have charming or fun decor, at the very least. It seems like it is only a bar for local gay men and nobody else.
Staff make this place inviting and we immediately felt relaxed. The bar is quite charming and some Indian lady art adorn one wall and left us wondering...
Great service and great drinks. My brothers husband (who doesn't drink) appreciated the non alcoholic beverage menu. I will be back every time I visit...
Spent 10 days in Prague and one of the first bars I discovered was Q café.I kept coming every night because the staff was unbelievably friendly & that reflects on customers as well.Mixed crowd with a lot of locals.I would definitely recommend and I thank them for great memories.See you soon hopefully. 🤞🏻
Nice hole in the wall bar. Visually beautiful. Great bartenders but a bit overwhelmed with the orders. Always positive, always had a smile. Lot of regulars...
