Samis Bar, located in the Metaxourgeio neighborhood, is a long-standing staple in Athens' LGBTQ+ nightlife. Known for its unpretentious, dive-bar atmosphere, it’s a favorite among locals and travelers looking for a relaxed, no-frills night out. The bar's late-night hours—often staying open until 4 AM on weekdays and 6 AM on weekends—make it a popular spot for those who like to keep the party going.
Samis Bar has a rich history, serving the community for over two decades. Its clientele is diverse, drawing a mix of ages and backgrounds, all looking for an inclusive space to enjoy affordable drinks. The music leans towards pop classics, Greek hits, and some iconic LGBTQ+ anthems, creating a laid-back vibe. While the interior might seem a bit dated, it's part of the charm that keeps regulars coming back.
Located near Athens' central railway station, it's easily accessible and a good starting point for a night out exploring the nearby Gazi district, a well-known LGBTQ+ hub. With friendly staff and a reputation as a welcoming space, Samis Bar remains a key part of Athens' gay nightlife scene.
We had so much fun on a Monday night. The barman was the nicest barman I've ever met. The prices were very good. The decoration and the vibe of the place was amazing. Thank you, we'll be back for sure!
I tried to visit this bar last night, but even though it was way past 11 pm, it wasn't open. There seems to be a pattern with the gay bars here in Athens. They just don't respect other people's time. What a joke!
Sammy’s bar is one of the rare gems of Athens. The bar owner is amazing, friendly, fun and very trustworthy. The boys there are hot hot hot and there’s always a good chance to sneak somewhere and have some good hot sexy fun! Recommend this place! See you next week Sammy’s Bar!
Love love love and love. Just that. The boss was quite comfortable tbh. Unexpected thing. Costumers looked happy so was I 😉😅. Nice place and the same barman every time I go there. Good thing though. Love this place and coming back
