Nestled in Dublin's vibrant Temple Bar district, The Boilerhouse has been a cornerstone of the city's gay scene since 1998. This five-story men-only sauna offers a variety of amenities, including a dry sauna, steam rooms, a jacuzzi, and private cabins. Visitors are provided with a wristband upon entry, granting access to lockers equipped with towels; additional towels are available for a €2 fee, though guests are welcome to bring their own. Flip-flops are provided free of charge upon request.
The Boilerhouse operates daily, with extended hours on weekends. Standard entry is priced at €25, with a discounted rate of €21 for students holding valid ID. For those planning multiple visits, a pass offering three entries within a two-week period is available for €63. The venue also offers a loyalty program, awarding one point per visit; accumulating ten points earns a free entrance.
Additional services include disposable douches for €5 and complimentary toiletries such as combs, razors, and shaving foam available at the coffee bar. The Boilerhouse maintains a strict no-alcohol policy but serves coffee and hosts special after-hours Steam nights.
There’s one tall male staff( I don’t know his name ) member who completely lacks basic courtesy and respect. While the website clearly states that flip-flops or extra towels cost around €2, instead of politely informing me, he chose to insult me in front of my friend — an absolutely humiliating experience. When I asked him to simply charge me for the items, he responded by demanding an unjustified €25 deposit. As a loyal customer, I expect at least basic decency and respect. Even if there were previous instances where I might have forgotten to return flip-flops, it would’ve been more appropriate and professional to address it at the time, not use it later as an excuse to insult and demean me.All other staff members have always been warm, helpful, and respectful — but this one individual completely ruined the experience with his arrogance and hostility. Management should seriously look into this behavior, as no customer deserves to be treated this way.
I always come here often, but when I went there last weekend, I felt a little itchy after staying in the dark room upstairs. I took a thorough shower, but this morning I found that my body was full of bumps. I'm going to see a doctor. I hope to strictly control the entry of skin disease patients and deal with hygiene problems.
Terrible staff tonight. A staff member knocked my door tonight and told me iv been smoking I need to go home. Smoking what? Someone must have complained prob an old man. But I got threw out at 2am iv nowhere to go as i fly home to Turkey at 10.30am. I'm very disappointed. Last week when I was in the staff where so nice
First time at this sauna, it is quite big, it has a dry and a wet sauna and many private rooms. The only problem is that the jacuzzi was not working and they did not tell us about it at the reception, although they charged the full entrance fee (25 euros). Otherwise everything was fine.
I been going to boiler house for nearly 25 years. Sometimes dissatisfied, as in no seriously hunk there but can't say I've not enjoyed the place. As sauna's go I reckon it's one of the best in Europe.
Was just in for a second time, only just left. Couldn't meet nicer than the guy at front - owner potentially. Was very welcoming om my first time, and was great just there now. As for facilities, when I've been in they've been clean - clean towels, flip flops, etc. Range of guys in there, no one type. Good shower facilities.
After living in Holland for a few years, visited many saunas in Europe, this is definitely in my top 5. Its spacious and offers just about everything. It could however do with a nice large hamman and larger sauna, is there enough space?Never had a problem with other people visiting there and have had some very nice experiences. Preferring to hook up with 50+, weekday afternoons is a nice time to meet them ( is there another day/time that 50+ frequent too??). Pity there aren't more saunas similar to Boilerhouse in Ireland. For me its a 2 hour journey up to the sauna but normally worth it. Staff are friendly, area is clean. For those travelling: I recommend NZ in Amsterdam and Rive Droite in Rouen ( France).
I and my partner we were in holidays in Dulin just 4days and on the 26th of October at night we went to this sauna and ,it was amazing place tidy ,very very clean ,no smell at all and the cocks I have see I don’t know what happen that night but it was huge massive cock around ,we recommend ,well done and thank you for the much pleasure we have that night
Staff are excellent, friendly and informative. The cafe/lounge area is nice. The rest of the sauna is a bit mediocre and tired in places. The jacuzzi is way too small considering the size of the place. The dry sauna is brightly lit with awful bulbs and doesn’t get very hot, strange sort of layout which meant some selfish people take advantage of laying spread out. Steam room is disappointing.
Never had food heard it's good try next time services good staff friendly smoking area cool with hot naked guys dark room cool lube condoms well supplied
Sauna with four floors and many stairs. There is a nice bar, dry sauna and steam sauna. On the fourth floor there is a small dark room. On the third floor there are 12 relaxing cabins. The cabins are often dirty. It is indicated that they are cleaning every hour but that does not seem to be enough. There aren't many other saunas to compete with this in Dublin, so you can find a lot of old clients and also younger ones. The sauna is open 24 hours a day on weekends .The price is €25 (2024). It is said that on Saturday - Sunday , after the Pubs have closed , there are many customers; but I didn't go at that time. The staff is correct. They do not provide flip flops, so bring your own. There is free lubricant and condoms.
