About
Nestled in Auckland's Avondale neighborhood, the Wingate Club stands as a welcoming retreat for gay men seeking relaxation and connection. Located at 76 Wingate Street, this sauna and spa is approximately a 15-minute drive from downtown Auckland.
The club offers a variety of amenities designed for comfort and socialization. Guests can unwind in the steam room or sauna, take a dip in the swimming pool, or explore the secluded outdoor grounds. Private cabins and communal areas provide spaces for both privacy and interaction.
Open daily from noon, the Wingate Club caters to men aged 18 and over. The venue's relaxed atmosphere and range of facilities make it a popular spot within Auckland's LGBTQ+ community.
For those planning a visit, the club's website offers additional information and contact details. Whether you're a local or a traveler, the Wingate Club provides a space to unwind and connect in Auckland.
The spread of facilities is the best in New Zealand. But if you after GWM twinks not for you. The clientele are more suburban, ironically as it is in the suburbs. But if you want a hot spa (with bubbles) and warm outdoor spa, a cool pool dip, a hot sauna or steam room, this is a must go. A word to the owners don't let the defer maintenance slip too long. The pool needs a paint, the spas need through cleans and maintenance, the vinyls in rooms need replacing and the lounge furniture needs replacing. When fun is not a guaranteed thing customers look at this things.
a return visit after 30 years..ive seen alot of changes to the "Wingate"after the fire.Great facilities..the wet and dry saunas are excellent..indoor and outdoor spas are very inviting..plenty of cubicles for fun times the lounge is accommodating and relaxing lots of friendly Gents.Summer time there is great, the pool is awesome, plenty of room for sunbathing..the Staff are so friendly and professional...a great place to relax and unwind....
I visited the Wingate Club on Sunday 9 July 2023 and one of the patrons insulted my race three times in a row after he requested I by him a soft drink. At other Rainbow venues in Auckland that would get that patron a ban, possibly for life. This did not happen, even though I reported him to not one but two staff members.I have attended this Rainbow club since the day it opened even donating furniture after they suffered a major fire some years ago.I will not be returning to The Wingate Club until patrons can be protected from racial bullying.
Not a safe environment. Some staff don't care if you've been assaulted and even actively try to cover it up if you report it. Many people who go to this place don't understand boundaries and are very sly. They will harass and push boundaries as much as they can.Centurion in the CBD is much better because the staff take assault very seriously and have even banned people for it. Wingate will never do that because they condone that sort of behavior.
Very clean venue ,very friendly staff and customers ,a great place to meet an excellent mix of guys ,lots of food to choose from ,jet pressure in spa is working well and the dry sauna is nice and hot ,the gardens and pool are well maintained. Entry fee and discounts are very affordable. And no need for a passout for a smoke/vape. The walls and swabs in private rooms are kept in fresh condition ,enjoy this venue more than another sauna I went to in Auckland this venue m has a very good vibe 😀 top marks 🐣
Excellent venue and one not to be missed if visiting Auckland --only one negative complaint.Sour faced staff at reception, especially owner,a friendly welcome would definitely be an improvement. The cruise area could do with some disinfectant a bit more frequently.Wear something on your feet.
