LGBTQ+ Online Directory “Ask Bobby” Launched in Honour of Late Strictly Star Robin Windsor
LONDON, 8 July 2025 — A new LGBTQ+ online directory named “Ask Bobby” has launched in memory of the late Strictly Come Dancing star Robin Windsor. Created by Windsor’s former partner and close friend Davide Cini alongside the charity You Are Loved, the platform offers a centralised resource connecting LGBTQ+ individuals with mental health charities, social groups, sports clubs and other inclusive organisations across the UK.
The initiative honours Windsor’s legacy of compassion and support for mental wellbeing. Cini emphasised that dancing helped Robin during “some of his darkest days,” and the directory aims to provide similar lifelines to those experiencing loneliness or mental strain. You Are Loved founder Marc Svensson highlighted that LGBTQ+ individuals face disproportionately high rates of suicide and drug‑related deaths, noting the importance of connecting people to supportive communities.
Windsor, who died in February 2024 aged 44, gained widespread acclaim on Strictly from 2010 to 2013, including performing in the show’s first same‑sex dance pairing.. The directory went live in June and is actively enrolling LGBTQ+‑serving organisations to expand its reach..
The Ask Bobby platform stands as a heartfelt tribute, extending Windsor’s spirit of warmth, visibility, and care to those in need.
