Scandinavias biggest gay club!

About

Backdoor, a club that proudly claims to be the largest gay club in Scandinavia, is a must-visit for anyone looking to experience Stockholm’s LGBTQ+ nightlife. Tucked near the Tele2 Arena, it’s a pulsating hub for partygoers every Friday and Saturday night, with doors staying open until a glorious 5 AM. That's pretty rare in Sweden, where most places shut down much earlier!

What sets Backdoor apart is its eclectic vibe. With three dance floors, you can groove to everything from house and techno to ‘90s pop and bangers. International DJs frequently take over the decks, ensuring the energy stays high. While the music is top-tier, be ready for Stockholm prices – entry and drinks can be a bit steep, but totally worth it if you're chasing that perfect night out.

The crowd? Mostly young, mixed with men, women, and a solid blend of both local and international guests. It’s a great spot for big parties, including many that coincide with Pride festivities, making it a go-to for anyone who loves a vibrant, inclusive scene.

Just remember – like any great night out, arrive early to avoid the queues at the bar and coat check.

I just tried to enter the venue. The security guard started speaking to me in Swedish. However, I asked him to speak English, stating that I was a tourist. He asked me if my name was on the guest list and that there was a private party today. However, I mentioned that the story I saw on Instagram did not state that there was a private party at all. On the contrary, I mentioned that the story was shared under the title "Everyone is welcome". He did not respond and was busy yelling at the lady next to him. Then he said "A party is a party" and ended the conversation. I witnessed the girls right in front of me being allowed into the venue without any checks. I have been to countless clubs and bars in Denmark, Portugal, Spain, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania and a few other countries before. And never seen such a thing. Here, I think they discriminate based on skin color, the language you speak or your appearance. And it is really painful that this is happening in Sweden. What is worse is that there is no other alternative, no gay clubs in the whole of Stockholm. When I searched on the internet, I saw that the management and security changed 2 months ago. However, I saw that nothing changed in the mentality. I hope that the club will either be investigated by the authorities soon or completely closed down. And I hope that more inclusive clubs will be opened for the benefit of the LGBT community for the people living in Stockholm.

The worst racist experience we have had in Europe! Both of us had no alcohol to drink but the so called racist bouncer decided that we were too “drunk” to enter! Guess it’s not the place for tourists! They only want locals! Something needs to be done with the guy with way too much attitude at the door! There really seems to be an issue with the so called “bouncers” that think they “gods”We have never been treated so badly in Europe in over 20 years! This country lace does not deserve to be open!

The security using physical violence against a female customer by the entrance while we queuing to get in. There were many people saw it and filmed it. And later security refused to let us in even tho we were in the list but he can't find the name(spelling wrong or something) my friend asked him many time to check the list. He got pissed and say even he find it he won't let us in because we were in the bad mood... Like really? We were unhappy because he couldn't do his job.And such toxic masculinity. Truly they can fire that security guard if they want to be an inclusive LGBT place.I don't feel safe.

Overpriced compared with other gay clubs in Europe. Wonderful DJs. The venue is just ok. And Mix crowd men and women, which was a little unusual.

Very bad experience. The staff working at the wardrobe was super unpleasant. (Not speaking just waving and looking at you like you are just annoying).Plus you need to pay 40kr to leave your stuff (which is fine) but you need to pay 10 more kr to get back your stuff from the wardrobe AND you need to wait in the same queue that the people that are just arriving to leave stuff (which was a very long queue) I never seen such a bad organisation. That is without speaking about guests that literally push you if you are on their way (I was waiting in line to pick up my stuff) and that happened twice.Otherwise the music was so so.But the place itself is nice and quiet well located.Anyway my last time there.

Not sure why this place has a 2 star rating but I thought it was a ton of fun. I only took off a star because the cover charge is a bit steep but it includes coat check which was nice and the price of a beer wasn’t out of line. Lots of hot guys, great music and fun atmosphere. So I just wanted to drop a positive review cuz I had a good time!

Expensive Club with Deceptive Entrance Fees!If you're considering going to this club, please take a moment to read my full review. As many of us know, there are very few LGBTQ+ clubs left in Stockholm, and those that once existed are no longer around.Backdoor is one of the last remaining options for the community, but it's located far from the center of Stockholm, meaning once you're there, you're stuck – there are no alternatives nearby.I went to the club after seeing a flyer that listed reasonable entrance fees: 180 SEK before midnight and 260 SEK after. However, the club has a sneaky method. If you arrive before midnight, they intentionally keep you waiting outside with the crowd until after midnight so you end up paying the full price. But that’s not the worst part – the price advertised on the flyer is *completely misleading*. Once you reach the door, you’ll be forced to pay an extra 30/40/50 SEK or even more, depending on the mood of the person at the cash desk.Additionally, they charge an extra fee for coat check, even if you don’t need it. In my case, I was charged 310 SEK instead of the 260 SEK that was clearly advertised. And to top it off, they tried to charge me twice, claiming my card wasn’t accepted – despite my card clearly being charged, as shown in the photos attached. When I contacted management via email, they either ignored me or responded unprofessionally, claiming they had "decided to raise the price that night." Excuse me? You trap people who have no other options and then raise prices on the spot, despite advertising a different amount on social media? No wonder this is the lowest-rated club in Scandinavia. If they continue to prioritize profit over customer experience, I doubt they’ll stay in business much longer.I've attached proof of the advertised flyer prices and the amount I was actually charged.I will *never* go back and wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. If you want a good night out, find a nice spot in town with reasonable prices instead.

This is Stockholm's only gay club, and it's sad. Hostile bouncer for no reason at entry. We had 2-3 beers before the club but he acted very dominant and authoritarian and said 'you don't look so good'. Teenage school disco vibe. Temporary bars with no taps, you have to get water from the bathroom tap. No planning went into this club. Nowhere to sit and hang out. How can they charge this much for a glorified school disco where people can't get the slightest tipsy or drunk although they sell alcohol? The vibe is lame and hostile. I'm not a teenager!

The club was mixed. While the venue itself was nice, with good music, and the prices were on the higher side compared to other clubs, I had an unfortunate encounter with the security guard at the entrance. Upon our arrival, the guard's behavior was noticeably unfriendly. We were unaware that smoking near the door wasn't allowed, and when we stepped outside to have a cigarette, the guard reacted aggressively by forcibly taking the cigarettes from us and raising his voice. This behavior felt unnecessarily harsh and disrespectful. While the venue has its positives, the interaction with security left a negative impression, and I’m unsure if I would return.

"security" staff is INCREDIBLY hostile 💀They threw out four of my friends for no reason at all.Later, another friend got really sick and had to be carried outside. We thought at the time he had been spiked.I asked the security (nicely) if they could maybe get some water for him, and the main bouncer in charge replied "not his problem" and said we could buy water at the gas station ten minutes away

The only friendly staff in this place are the bartenders. The doorstaff and security are usually quite rude and unwelcoming. The music they play is good and the place has potential but the vibe is completely ruined by the invasion of straight women who in turn bring a second invasion of predatory straight men looking to score with less competition or something. Last few times I’ve been there I’ve been getting should bumped and eyed down by some straight guys that seem like they’re just looking for a fight. I just want a safe space to dance to good music.

The music was quiet fun and I didn’t have any problem with security but this place is OVERPRICED. Entrance was 200SEK (18€) with no drink included, one tequila shot was 110SEK(10€) and cocktails were about 170SEK (15€). They have no dancers, no fancy lights, no seats in smoking area. Also it feels like a straight club bc all I saw was girls going night out to a gay club to not to be bothered by straight men. I didnt have a bad experience but I would recommend or go again.
