About
Head on over to Banana Café in Les Halles. This place isn't just another dot on the map; it's a tropical-themed haven for the gay community and their pals, complete with all the faux palm trees, coconut cups, and buoy decorations you could ask for.
Banana Café's been around the block, making waves back in the day with TV spots and celeb sightings. These days, it's the go-to spot for anyone craving a blend of casual drinks and wild nights, thanks to its themed bashes and drag queen extravaganzas. And let's talk about those happy hours – €3 pints from 6-11 PM, though you might have to wave a bit to catch the bartender's eye.
Open daily from the early evening till the crack of dawn, this spot draws in a younger crowd looking for a break from the usual Marais scene. Post-happy hour, the terrace action moves indoors where the dance floor and go-go boys ramp up the energy. Depending on the night, there might be a cover, but it's all in good fun and well worth it for the vibe.
I think I got refused service - walked in, asked politely for a drink, bartender said 'we are not serving you here' and waved towards the back (no idea what he was trying to say there). I'm off to my hostel, drinks might be slightly more expensive but at least I can actually buy them.
Went at 7pm for happy hour. For 4.90 pints. Got a bill for 2 IPAs 15.00 and 1 blonde for 5. Rosie 20. Order 2 more IPAs for the new bill for 4 IPAs for 30 and blonde disappeared. Asked them to honor happy hour 20 for 4 they did not even acknowledge the fake blonde charge and asked for non happy hour prices.
Stopped in for a quick drink before dinner and it was just fine. We got cosmos and they were absolutely not the right recipe but the drink was still decent. The vibes are cool on this block and we sat outside which was nice for relaxing and people watching.
I urge anyone to AVOID this place. The treatment from the staff and security is disgusting. Towards the end of the night, my friend and I were unfortunately physically assaulted by one of the security guards (see photo of the man). I am absolutely appalled a place can staff such disgusting people, who have no care for their clients. We paid €10 to enter, only to be physically assulted and verbally abused. I will be taking this to the police.
This is the worst of the worst. A supposedly open and friendly place but the staff is derogatory and outright insulting to the customers. Paris has so many great places at night, and I am usually very measured in my comments, I know it is hard to manage a night bar. But here goes : I have been here twice, the first time some of my friends were harassed and the staff couldn't give a s***. I came back for a friend's birthday because I was told the management changed but it is truly awful, never seen anything like this. I will NEVER go back to this place and I advise you to do the same unless you wish to get ripped off by arrogant and hateful people.
€20 entry plus free drink of your choice. Tiny upstairs bar. Choice was very limited. Bar man was pathetic, acted as if he had a busy bar to attend when we asked for just two drinks. We would have expected the attitude if the place was full of hotties but it was just like any other bar filled with average looking staff. The thing we enjoyed the most about our one drink there was the insect we saw running across the fridges. We alerted the bar staff to it as a friendly "watch out" and laughed but they took themselves way too seriously and brushed it off without any sort of acknowledgement or apology, as if it were a normal occurrence.I am not inclined to leave bad reviews, however this place was so unbelievably jumped up I felt I had to warn those thinking that a trip here might be a good idea. It's rubbish. Everywhere else we went was so much friendlier.
Standard gay bar, with pricey drinks and good music. Lots of other options around it if you aren't feeling its vibe. Great dance bar though! If you're...
After over a week of wine (way to much) and beer. It was fun to come into this cute little cocktail bar. It was pretty empty during the day but whatever....
