The Beat Megaclub, nestled in Brisbane's Fortitude Valley at 677 Ann Street, has been a cornerstone of the city's LGBTQ+ nightlife since its establishment in 1983. Operating five nights a week, this expansive venue boasts six distinct dance floors, each offering a unique musical experience ranging from old-school retro to R&B and hip-hop. Patrons can also enjoy three spacious beer gardens and multiple bars, ensuring a variety of atmospheres to suit different preferences. Entertainment is a staple at The Beat, with drag performances lighting up the stage every night, adding to the club's vibrant and inclusive ambiance. While the club has garnered a loyal following over the decades, it's worth noting that some visitors have expressed concerns about security and management practices. Despite these critiques, The Beat Megaclub remains a significant player in Brisbane's entertainment scene, offering a diverse and lively environment for those looking to immerse themselves in the city's nightlife.
Been coming to this club with many friends for 10-11 years and never had a bad experience so far, always been a great time and it’s always busy.Plenty of bars, smoking areas and an arcade bar, this place beats majority of clubs across Brisbane and the Gold Coast.
Worst experience of my life. I’ve never seen some people with such a bad hospitality like them. One of our friend could not come with us and we paid the entrance but they did not want to make a refund for us. What a shame. Don’t go there.
I can’t comment on food as I had none at the venue. The atmosphere as fantastic , when I tried to raise an issue with security of patrons on the dancefloor with drinks in their hand, the response I had was “say it don’t spray it”. Its clear to me that security in this venue don’t care about patron safety.Staff were great. I’d put a negative number for security if I could. People don’t care until someone gets hurt.
I have been to many (gay) night clubs all over the world but this must have been one of the worst experiences. No draught beer served, no drinks allowed on the dance floor and security checking the toilets and the dancefloor constantly. Not the relaxed atmosphere I am looking for when going out. I was also disappointed with how many straight couples were at the venue, where did all the gays go? Well, hopefully to a better venue! Brisbane deserves so much better than this place. The decoration looked nice though, so when you enter it is not immediately clear how terrible this club actually is.
