About
If you haven't checked out the newly minted Boyberry Berlin, you're missing out on some serious cruising action. In March 2024, the iconic Tom's Bar space got a sexy makeover, transforming into Boyberry's Berlin outpost, bringing a taste of Barcelona's dark delights to the heart of Schöneberg.
Gone are the smoky days of yore. Boyberry throws open the curtains, literally, with big windows facing the Motzstrasse, letting you check out the scene while sipping your drink. But fear not, privacy seekers! Inside, a labyrinth of cabins and glory holes awaits, perfect for anonymous encounters. Plus, the new owners have revamped the space with a focus on fresh energy – think less smoke, more banging tunes.
Whether you're a Boyberry Barcelona regular or a Berlin first-timer, this spot quickly feels like your home away from home. The staff carries on the Tom's legacy with a friendly welcome, and the relaxed vibe makes it easy to strike up a conversation or just cruise the scene.
So, next time you're in Schöneberg looking for a hot spot to mingle (or more!), be sure to add Boyberry Berlin to your itinerary. This newcomer is sure to climb the ranks of Berlin's must-visit cruising bars.
Not recommended. Discriminates against certain groups. Really rude door men. Weird atmosphere. And notice. There has recently been a significant flow of five star reviews. They always come in short bursts several reviews sent almost precisely at the same time. And the reviews repeat verbatim almost the same sentences. Go figure the reason for that.As always, read the one star reviews also , they tend to be more reliable because the 5 star reviews here are mostly bogus.
The place now is much better than when it was Tom’s bar. Better atmosphere and happier feeling. And music was great. A mixture between all kind of songs from Europe from now to music from years ago. Christian in the bar was really making everyone feeling so welcome ! I’ll be back for sure !
Really nice bar with cool vibes, finally some nice place for younger people. I'm over 30 and felt perfectly fitted. Nice atmosphere, cool music, friedly stuff and really big cruising area with darkrooms up and dawnstairs where you can have lot of fun. Friendly waiters, that was my first time and i got wardrobe for free as welcome treat. I really liked it, they could work and invest little more in interior design but all in all very nice experience i recommend and for sure will come back soon 🥳
I had so much fun. The cruising area was clean and had the right amount of lighting or darkness. The guys were hot and it was packed. I would definitely go back there and i recommend it.
They intend to be a bar for "twinks". If you come from other group, expect to be discriminated. Older guys, fetish people, bears, expect that your entry is likely to be refused. Not in Berlin. Please close your doors or learn tolerance and diversity.
Weird vibe. Dance and games in the front. Glory holes in the back and downstairs. They don’t like fetish gear. Don’t show up with puppy hoods or they will ask you to leave.
We had an excellent experience at Boyberry in Berlin, thanks to Daniel. His kindness and good treatment made our visit very pleasant. He was attentive, his recommendations were perfect for our visit around the city. Despite being busy, he never made us feel rushed. We will definitely be back.
A nice cruising bar with a concept similar to Boyberry Madrid. Relatively cheap drinks and fun darkroom during busy hours (weekends) with a miced international crowd. The rest of the times it's very quiet and frankly less fun! Consumption mandatory straight after entering the bar.
Terrible experience, super rude young bar tender following people suspiciously and with the eyes controlling if you are coming just for the cruising area.Bar was almost empty and we were waiting for a friend that was inside the bathroom/dark area and the bar tender invited us to leave the bar immediately if we hadn't take any drinks after 1 mins. He was shouting and calling us with terrible manners in front of all the people (some of the client didn't have any drinks anyway so it did look more like something personal, maybe because we were Italian) ... We would certainly have a drink if he hadn't insisted so much as soon as we crossed the threshold and if we have had a better welcome. An advice: It's better to keep away from certain bad people and this terrible low profile gay scene, in Berlin for sure you can find better places at least with kind people and a warn welcome.
Unfriendly and slow barmen. Lacks of atmosphere. Looks more like an ice cream shop with lot of light and fruits decorations that give the place a very childish appearance. Often very empty. Two huge pictures of p*rm actors outside the entrance which someways try to establish how you should look like if you want to get in. What was a very nice smoking room with an extensive sitting corner and soccer table is now a very underwhelming dark-room-labyrinth that nobody actually uses. There are no benches anymore in the bar.. there's nowhere you can sit together with somebody to exchange some affection. It's just bar chairs. Very cold and impersonal. There's nowhere where you can actually chill.
I finally took the time to visit Boyberry in Berlin. I've been to Boyberry a few times in Madrid before the pandemic, and I immediately recognised the theme and concept. They've done a great job turning old Tom's into new Boyberry. I can't really understand the negative reviews here as I had a great time and all the staff members I was in contact with were very nice and friendly. The prices in the bar are also good with beer for less than €4. I went here on a Saturday night so it was as crowded as it can be, and I had a lot of hot fun with several other guests during the night both in the cabins and downstairs. It's not often that I stay out until five in the morning anymore, but here time just flew and it was suddenly morning. I'll be back for sure ❤️
Very friendly staff! Not a bad place to go to on a Monday night, when most places are closed. It’s also nice to have your drink served by handsome bartenders 😘
I was visiting from New York City and was looking forward to experiencing the bar. I walked in on a Saturday night and received a tap on the shoulder from a plump and indistinguishablebearded man who kept saying not this time not this time. I realized he wanted me to leave. Given his shocking rudeness I was happy to oblige for he gave me the creeps. A very strange experience to be sure. In NewYork, Gay establishments are integrated into the community where gay people lift each other up and have each other’s backs. Boyberry is obviously self serving and ageist. As Bette Davis said WHAT A DUMP! Thank goodness I did not arrive in a wheelchair. They probably would have pushed me out the door into on coming traffic.
It has NOTHING to do with Madrid or Barcelona. I came hoping to find something similar to Barcelona, but nothing has changed from the Tom's bar era, it's always the same place, the management is still the same!!!! The only difference is that the former staff (barmen, etc) were fired to hire some cute twinks... That's all, nothing more has changed.
Not welcoming staff. We entered the Bar to see how it looks like, to understand if there was an atmosphere to sit and drink beer, but 2 guys immediately said that we have to order an alcohol to go further and see the bar. We turned around and left.Worst place I've ever been to Berlin.

From a city like Berlin - I expected something BETTER, definitely better, but it was VERY VERY POOR ! The darkrooms downstairs are very dark - so dark that you can't even see people's faces. Of course, I understand the word "darkroom", but I believe that there should be a small light there, allowing at least the facial features to be seen. The floor is dark and you don't know where you are going and what you are getting into. It's dangerous. ALSO it was very stuffy and hot EVEN though the temperature outside was normal. TOO MANY OLD MEN and „boys” like lady princesses with colorful nails from southern Europe. This is simply overrated. This place is genderless. Will not visit again. The only benefit is nice service at the bar 💁🏼♂️ but it doesn't make me want to visit this place again.
I went to this bar for the second time today, and this will be the last. One of the bar staff was extremely rude, he refused to take the beers I ordered and wouldn't take my coat when I asked to leave. Anyone who works in customer service must keep in mind that the customer is the one who brings in the money, the customer is the star and not the shirtless attendant. For owners, I suggest being more careful when hiring. A bad employee harms the establishment and scares away customers.
Seems absolutely out of place. The new owners mustn't have any connection to the neighborhood they injected themselves into if they thought this soulless, franchise-looking, surveillance-clad twink-joint is what Berlin in general and Motzstraße in particular needed. The atmosphere is weird and the music is silly at best. Don't recommend
I went to the inauguration last Friday. It was packed all night. Huge success. I had so much fun. The football table was there (instead of a review that says it is not). Bartenders were super nice and hot. Public was great. Backroom looks great. This is gonna be a fun place to go.
Amazing new place! The color, the atmosphere. The music. High recommend place and it really shows that they care about the clients. The football table is great, the dark rooms and the glory’s. Perfect place to to and have some drinks and some fun if you fancy.
