Camp Munich, nestled in the heart of Munich's gay district, has been a staple in the city's LGBTQ+ scene since 2005. This men-only bar, located at Reisingerstraße 15, offers a welcoming atmosphere for locals and visitors alike.
The venue features a bright, friendly bar area where patrons can enjoy a variety of drinks served by upbeat bartenders. Beyond the bar, Camp Munich boasts one of the city's largest cruising areas, including a spacious dark room for those seeking a more intimate experience.
Each night at Camp Munich brings a different theme. Mondays kick off with the Naked & Underwear Party, setting the tone for the week. Tuesdays feature ""Rubbel dir Einen!"" where guests can participate in a scratch card game with the chance to win a bottle of vodka. Wednesdays are dedicated to Dark Cruising, with most areas of the bar kept completely dark. Thursdays celebrate bearded men and their admirers with Bart CAMP, offering a free welcome shot to those sporting facial hair. The weekend heats up with Party & Cruising nights on Fridays and Saturdays, featuring the best electro house mix. Sundays conclude the week with special events.
Camp Munich is open seven days a week, with varying hours: Monday from 8:00 PM to 1:00 AM, Tuesday through Thursday from 8:00 PM to 2:00 AM, Friday and Saturday from 8:00 PM to 4:00 AM, and Sunday from 8:00 PM to 1:00 AM.
For those traveling via public transport, the bar is conveniently close to the Sendlinger Tor station.
32 year old Mexican / American guy here on a Friday night. This place sucks lol, but that’s just my opinion and shouldn’t be the baseline as to why you should / shouldn’t visit this place. But I will tell you a few facts:- people who come here are regulars who know each other- one may get the sense that you aren’t welcomed by the clientele. However, the staff is amazingly pleasant and nice.- this is a cash only place- the place seems big but who knows you aren’t really encouraged to wonder off into other areas of the establishment if you don’t speak German (even though I know enough to get by 😉).There’s another vibe where I got the vibe they didn’t like people of color (you can see the review of that somewhere in my profile), but the vibe I got from this bar is more of a”we hate anyone that isn’t a regular.”Also the clientele is mostly older men like 50+ with their 20-30 year old husbands. The music is okay and the facility is okay as well. I didn’t visit the dark rooms though.Once you go in, they give you a 4€ drink. However, a vodka with coca-cola costs €10 so that 4€ really does nothing. The 10€ is definitely cheaper than say for example Zum Wolf, but still on the expensive side.
Be careful! Someone took my wallet and credit card/cash from my packet! Immensely disappointed this happened! Don’t have things in pocket! So saddened and disappointed by this!
It's been a while since I've been to a proper gay bar. The atmosphere was laid back, then charged with sexual energy. I experienced the dark area. Very interesting. The bartender made my Bacardi Coke to my standards. I'd live to go back. They do have cover charge, and you get a voucher toward first drink. No credit card, cash only...so, if you like to drink, bring plenty of euros.
Been to hundreds of gay bars in the world. After paying the 10 euro for our entry 2 people they said a drink up to 3.50 euro. Charged 8.50 for a vodka tonic after paying 5 euro at all other gay bars. No wonder they had 8 guys max the rude zobz. Pick another and enjoy your night
