About
Central Station in Kings Cross is basically your cool, friendly neighborhood spot that's got a bit of everything. It's a big hit with the LGBTQ+ crowd, and for good reason. They've spruced up the place, so it's not just a bar but a whole vibe. Think day-to-night transformation – serving the office folks by day with great grub and drinks, and then switching gears to a more party-like atmosphere for the evening crowd.
What's cool about Central Station? Well, first up, it's got this smart-casual thing going, so you can drop in without needing to dress to the nines. It's all about dancing and having a good time. And let's not forget the new roof terrace – it's like this sweet spot for chilling under the stars with a drink in hand.
Sure, there's some chatter about the rooms not being top-notch, but hey, that's not really the main draw here. People come for the lively bar scene, the friendly staff, and the inclusive vibe. It's like this little gem in London for both the locals and tourists who are looking for a place where they can just be themselves and enjoy the night. So, if you're around Kings Cross and looking for a spot that's got a good mix of daytime chill and nighttime buzz, Central Station is worth checking out,
We had some free time before the train departure and by pure luck we ended up in this pub. As it was a Wednesday special night we were kindly invited to the basement Amazing. Every man’s dream place. We can’t wait to be back in January.
Central Station is an LGBT friendly pub with rooms to stay upstairs, Fridays and Saturdays in the bar are fantastic, the karaoke on both those nights with the DJ Chris Reardon is legendary, it’s hilarious and such a great night. Me and my friends always love it. Iconic !!!
Always have a great time, reasonably priced drinks, good service and a pool table, karaoke etc. Heard good things about the nights in the basement too, look forward to going there one time.
This bar has the best bar staff in London. Always with a smile and friendly banter. A nice mix of customers and entertainment. Drinks reasonable, food okay. Never stayed in the rooms but have never heard anything that didn't suggest good value for money. Love it 😀 xxxx
Lovely staff great location but terribly run down. The rooms haven’t been decorated in years and the feel of the place is one of willful neglect. Not even any shampoo in the bathrooms
Visited for first time and the staff were very helpful and friendly.a nice and friendly crowd.i don't drink alcohol and was offered non alcoholic choices and was also given free water.i shall hopefully visit again.give it a try for somewhere different.
Popped in here on the way back to the PIH because it was so close by. Post Eurovision festivities were winding down and it was quite quiet but the layout was really cool and the indoor decor was nice.Toilets very basic and a bit messy but that’s to be expected.I don’t really drink much but got two beers and it was £14 which seems like a lot? I don’t know. Nice place though!
We checked out one day earlier because of a personnal issue and informed the manager. He said we would get a refund if we send our train tickets via mail. So we sent the tickets through mail the day after we left, but then suddenly they stopped responding and now they are saying they never recieved the tickets. They were also very rude. They are just lying now to keep our money. I have never had such a bad experience in any b&b, literally shocking. Also the building and rooms are very old and dirty, needs renovation. Our bathroom had little black hairs on the floor, room was noisy because of thin windows and there was a green exit light at night in the room which was very annoying. AVOID!
This is a lovely gay pub and meeting place conveniently located close to Kings Cross station. Very polite and helpful bar manager. Had a wonderful time in their basement while attending a social event. Drinks were reasonably priced too.
Great location, and the karaoke in the pub downstairs was high quality. But the loud music ran until around 2 AM. Not the place to stay if you want to get any sleep.
This hotel bar is the worst place to spend a night at… all the workers there are extremely racist especially the manager! They steal your money and waste your time lying to you… it’s the last place you’d ever want to stay at and last people you’d ever want to trust!! Don’t rely on these people.. they’re customer service is outrageous on another level and if they’re not satisfied with what your saying or can’t handle the truth they’ll just end the phone on your face!! Worst experience ever in my life!!!!!
Beer in the karaoke bar is often flat no doubt due either to insufficient mix of CO2, dirty lines or both. Bottled Bud 330ml was £5!! Spoils the pleasure. Pity because it's unnecessary.
Had a few drinks there this afternoon as West End was packed. The bar staff Jay (manager) was really friendly. The place was really quiet but top marks for Jay, brilliant service, he has a sense of humour as well. 😄
AVOID !! I stayed one night and I ended up with 150 bed bugs bites. on the next day I took at the back of my pillow and there were back spots on the pillow case !! with a proper health and hygiene process there is no way the hotel did not know about this. Please avoid. This is living nightmare. I had to throw away my suitcase and bring someone to my home to disinfect the place. Not to mention the PTSD. It has been 9 days I still have bites marks on me (face included). I am still waiting on the hotel to come back to me, the reception desk did not even care when I told them there were bed bugs in the room. They were not surprised at all. Of course they reimbursed the company for the night but they do not seem to care about what I have to pay because of that + the trauma left. Avoid. Worst hotel experience ever.
Really relaxed and good place to talk lots of clubs meet too. Nice to see a woman behind the bar. History of the place used to be the Prince Albert and host GLF discos.
Clean bedroom, fabulous locationStaff friendly, Guy was very welcoming and food was excellent, Sam's kitchen is so tasty! Try it you won't be disappointed and price is not bad either
Found by accident whilst trying to get a seat for the Euro 2020 England Germany Game. The location tucked around the corner from Kings Cross meant that it wasn't busy. All the cleanliness controls were in place with ample oppertunities for servce which was swift and friendly. Couple of TVs placed as best they could given the layout. Served Heineken too, which is a nice change in this day & age. Nice pub. Thanks.
Incredible food and friendly service. Had a lovely evening here this Saturday..have eaten here many times and it just gets better and better. New menu I cluded all kinds of interesting meats from around the world and also veggie options. Food was clearly all home made and freshly cooked.
I really wanted to like this hotel. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, though the rooms left a little to be desired. There was foul food/sewage smell coming from the tiny bathroom. Shower was smaller than what you’d find in an RV. The bed was not very comfortable.
Manager /supervisor here started ordering me round the pub when I tried to eat here.I specifically ordered food to a quiet back table, only to get the manager ordering me to a table right in front of where they were about to start open mic tests for a later event. And then the rest of the staff complaining at me that I moved positions...(On bright side, singer seemed good, but too much for me when I was trying to get some food to stop a migraine!)
one of the best old fashiond pubs that i have been to, staff are so friendly and its a great night out, had some really good nights in there and cant wait to return, plenty of parking on the streets around in the evening so all good
If you wanna be taken to a gay bar a gay bar .there's none better . Upstairs a normal bar , cheap hotel rooms upstairs if you wanna stay the night , a good smoking terrace it's got it all . Where this place comes into its own though it the basement club. Not for the bashful and don't wonder down their if you're not open minded as it's a bit naughty. On Wednesdays they have the appropriately titled sweet Wednesday which is a club for TV/ts and their admirers to get together and be naughty. Font look behind the curtain if you don't want to know what goes on .
One of my favourite bars when I visit London. Have to admit I have a nostalgic soft spot for the place. One of the first London gay bars I visited in 90's when a group of us visited after a Marc Almond concert. What a night, Years later some of the nights in the Underground Bar, probably some of the best I've ever had. Zero attitude from management and staff. When I was there last, the place could have done with some updating, but quite frankly that is part of the charm. Not been so much lately as I no longer live in London, but I'm glad its survived the gentrification of the area. Clearly adjustments have been made, as Kings Cross is not the place it once was. Not tried the B&B facilities but seem very reasonably priced and competitive. Just to declare an interest here. I worked the door and coat check at CS, not for Martin and Duncan directly, but for one of the promoters renting the cellar bar. Bye the way, the review left below 3 years ago by Alan Roberts is unfair. He is a club promoter who left this venue and has issues. Martin and Duncan who run this venue are two of the nicest people in this business, and long may they continue!
This is a traditional old school gay bar, club ('Underground' in the basement) and budget hotel. Very welcoming, confident and uncompromising in its culture...
Central Station is not the classiest of establishments. I'm sure it has a very loyal, local clientèle, but I'm afraid I won't be back. In the area with...
