With a robust agenda that caters to a wide array of tastes and preferences, Club NYX promises an unforgettable night where joy, music, and inclusivity reign supreme.
Nyx is undoubtedly one of the best music clubs in Amsterdam, but one recurring issue stands out—the rudeness of the bouncers at the door. During our last visit, this was especially evident and ended up ruining our night. While waiting in line in the cold as a group of six, two of our friends were vaping. When it was our turn to enter, the bouncer informed them that smoking wasn’t allowed inside. They politely acknowledged this and assured her they would stop. Despite their cooperative and respectful response, the bouncer, who already seemed visibly irritated before we even arrived, rudely told them to leave the queue.Later, when our friends rejoined the line, they were denied entry altogether. Their polite behavior and willingness to follow instructions made the bouncer’s reaction feel entirely unjustified, casting a shadow over an otherwise enjoyable venue.
i have to say, after reading the comments i was a bit sceptical and worried about going to Nyx but, if you're not behaving like a dick to the staff and following the rules, they are really chill. i saw first hand why many of those comments are written and honestly: it's deserved. many people behave like dicks, lack of education i guess. i had a blast, my friends as well, and will go back!
Firstly, although I am required to give at least one star here, this place doesn't deserve it. I was humiliated and mistreated by two security guards. I have never been so disrespected and humiliated in my life. This all happened in the early hours of December 8th. I entered the nightclub and immediately found it strange that we were required to leave our umbrellas outside, especially since the club has lockers. I placed some accessories in the tiny locker, but not my coat, as I was cold and the coat wouldn't fit.I stayed in the club for about 30 minutes and decided to look for the bathroom. Unable to find it, I asked a security guard, who immediately told me I had to put my coat (which I was wearing) in the locker, as it was mandatory! I explained I just wanted to use the bathroom, but the security guard wouldn't let me and even called over another guard. Together, they blocked my access not only to the bathroom but also to the dance floor where my friends were, preventing me from notifying them about what was happening. The security guards abused their authority, restricted my movement and freedom, and essentially forced me to put my coat in the locker, even though I was cold and felt more comfortable wearing it. I decided to retrieve the rest of my belongings from the locker and left, feeling utterly stressed, humiliated, and disrespected as never before – and I have been to many nightclubs without anything like this happening. Avoid this place at all costs. The security staff should be reprimanded or even fired because this is no way to treat anyone. I will never set foot in this establishment again. I go out to have fun and unwind, and I ended up feeling even worse.

Went there with my friend, we were at the entrance waiting for the club to open so at 22. The ticket guy asked us if we knew what music was playing that night, actually we were there to discover it so we said no. He told us to leave… in a very rude way, like we were garbage. We were open to pay more, since we didn’t booked in advance but we didn’t have the time even to speak. I understand hospitality is harsh, you don’t have to smile but don’t project your unhappy life on nice customers. Are you NYX staff guys proud of this behavior?
Worst club that I have ever been. Staff are rude there at the entrance. Additionally, please don’t waste u money here if u r trying find a nice gay club with good vibe. It’s pretty much straight vibe in this club.
Genuinely my favorite club in Amsterdam.Especially the different parties offer a nice open space for everyone. Saturday is very queer, while Friday is a general open minded crowd. Thursdays is quite the student night, with discounted tickets available so that you can party even on a budget. And even per night, the layout with multiple floors and different DJ's guarantees you will always find something that fits your taste. And while I never had any bar experience there, the presence of safety personnel (with a rainbow arm band) already makes me feel much safer than many other clubs.Truly a gem in the queer street in Amsterdam, no matter if queer, international or whatever: always a safer space❤️
Am here almost every Saturday (queer night) and I honestly have had some of my best nights here. Three floors of different genres of music, friendly staff (who aren't afraid to kick people out who make the space uncomfortable or unsafe, and just good vibes all round. 🩷
Trulyy have had the BEST experiences at NYX, I've made so many lasting friendships and connections. The lovely staff and gorgeous performers make it feel asif you're in your wildest most amazing dreams😍 definitely recommend going, especially if you are a queer person looking for community, NYX is perfect for meeting new people and even finding love ❤️ very euphoric
Genuinely not a queer space at all! Went there on a Thursday and it was filled with straight teenagers that have the time of their life dancing to Adele and one direction (good for them) buuuut this place can really not call themselves a queer club!! There are so many spaces for straights and if you claim to create a space for queers then work on that! So to all queers who are looking for a good time, this is not the space you are looking for or will have a good time at! Enjoy yourself in spaces that are authentically queer❤️ and please don’t bother going to this area just to watch straight guys fighting over nothing after they had two sips of their beer xx Shit music on top and 1 shot will cost you at least 6€...but to end on a positive note : the people who worked there were sweet!
Went there on a thursday, where this queer club is apparently all straight. Three floors of pop music with cis boys having the time of their lives spitting on the dance floor. A shot of tequila costs you 6€. The staff was really genuinely nice, but a warning at the entrance would be appropriate!!! Maybe try another day, but I warn you, NOT THURSDAYS!!! We need our spaces & this is not one of them.
Club is probbaly fun but bouncer at the entrance was very stuck up for not wishing her a 'Good evening!' prior to having a conversation whilst waiting in the queue. For this reason I wasn't allowed in. Very unfortunare and poor experience.
One if not the best nightclub I've ever been to. Such a beautiful and accepting place with lovely people and great music!Be respectful of others and you'll have a great time.
If I could give this club zero stars I would, Im sure inside is amazing but maybe they should get better staff at the front door. I walked up to the guy at the door and said “Hi”, he said “hello” and I asked him if it was free tonight because they had a promotion on Instagram. He rudely responded “I said hello,” said nothing more and told us to leave. My aunt is disabled and they discriminated against her because of her disability. This is wrong and uncalled for, the guy picks and chooses who he wants to come in based on whatever he thinks. If this place wants to pretend to be like a NY club, they should not discriminate and have someone at the door that is kind and respectful to people.
First off, I do not want to give any stars, if you are straight avoid booking anything with this club. It’s a SCAM! We got multiple tickets(all girls) to this club to celebrate bachelorette and were denied entry even after booking tickets. The guy at the door gave a card to request refund and nobody responds. Waste of tickets(3) each costing around 15euros, seems like a scam considering you are not even allowed inside. We are following up since May and considering no response on phone, via email or the code given writing this review..
It's a very interesting 3 floor venue with different stages of music. The kind of music depends on the day, but normally it's a combination of pop, latin music, 90s hits, techno, disco etc. Check their instagram to see what djs are going to play that day because the music is a hit or miss sometimes.I highly recommend getting early to the venue because they give you a stamp in your wrist to go outside and in anytime you want. This way you can hop to the other bars and explore what they have to offer too.Mostly Gen-Z / late millenial oriented. Queer oriented but also a lot of nice and chill straight people. There are lockers to leave your belongings, but you need a 2€ coin for that. There is also an entrance fee of (by the time of this review) 16€.
Not worth it!I had heard negative things about this club, but I decided to give it a chance anyway. I queued for over an hour, waited patiently, and spent nearly the entire night there. After drinking many beers, I decided to have a glass of water before going home. When I asked for tap water at the bar, I was given an empty glass. Confused, I went to the end of the bar to ask a staff member for some tap water, but she simply said no. Thinking she might not understand English, I asked again, and she replied, "We can say no." For a glass of tap water?I was baffled. I would have paid for the water if it was for sale, but the refusal was clear and blunt. When I attempted to speak to the manager, it was a disaster. He told me to get water from the bathroom. Disappointed and frustrated, I left the club.I’ve been to many disappointing bars but so far this is the worse.A good shout out to the security, DJs and some of the floors staff, but the bar guys need to improve their customer service skills urgently and badly.
The people working here are is the most unfriendliest people. Although the music is ok they will find the smallest reason to put you out of the club so they can make more money on new people coming it (for example: making a call when standing in the line, even when ending the call when they ask). Do not go here!! There are much better clubs with people that are more welcoming. Never again
Great music and cool space, but awful service. It was really busy at night, and my friend was pushed to the stage. The manager saw it, but he was too busy trying to clean up the space and rudely pushed my friend back. When she was trying to attract his attention and say that it was rude, because he might tell her to go, he said "Go 🦆 yourself". In 5 minutes face-control came and kicked us from the place because he "doesn't want to see us in HIS club anymore".That's insane. You call yourself "a safe space" and allow your management to behave inappropriately. The worst thing is that anyone understands he wasn't right: "Oh, we know, but he's the only manager today and we can't do nothing". We really liked the place, but it's absolutely ridiculous. Thanks for ruining my bachelorette party.
I have mixed feelings about this place. Went on a Friday night and had a lot of fun. DJ on first floor was awesome and the crowd was great. Went on a Saturday night and the music was mediocre, plus it was completely full of straight women and their boyfriends all vying to take the best photos of themselves on the dance floor. For a “gay club” it’s not particularly gay.
Been here a couple of times now. The prices for drinks are ok and the staff is nice! But the entrance fee is a little bit too much for what you’re getting in return.I do really like the place and the idea of different floors with different styles of music.BUT….Me and some friends went on Saturday, and although there was a crowd and people were on the dance-floor; the music just didn’t hit at all. It wasn’t giving, nothing was ate.People did dance to the popular songs, that they played every once in a while, but other than that, people did only shimmy from one foot to the other in kind of a “meh” vibe, or just stood around looking lost. This didn’t change even later in the night. The blond DJ looked cute but only played music nobody really knew except for some songs, and those were the not so great remix’ of said popular songs.— I’d recommend switching something up in that department. Maybe train the DJs to read the room and what the crowd wants better.I went to the different floors a couple of times, but we decided to leave early because of the music.Hopefully this changes. Had some great parties there with great music! Would love to have them again!
Our group got turned away at the door when we were asked if we knew what kind of club it was. We told the bouncer we didn't really care and was looking to dance the night away and without explanation why we were told to go somewhere else. What a waste of time.
The front door staff are horrible. I was denied re-entry because they claimed I was had been told multiple times not to smoke in the line but hadn't stopped. This simply didn't happen, not to mention that the bouncer was smoking a cigarette while she told me this. Small, pathetic people that enjoy making someone cry at 2:30am while it's cold and raining. Absolutely disgusting.
The worst club in Amsterdam!to flee!we had just arrived at the nightclub and the security guards wanted to kick out one of our friends who was taking too long in the toilet, they were violent with her, we wanted to talk to them they then kicked our entire group out of the club at night while being violent!in addition we noticed an extremely inappropriate bouncer at the entrance!very bad experience therefore.the music was bad and the rooms lifeless.even if it's the only club open in the city, go for a walk there will be more atmosphere and you won't experience violence.
Avoid this club. I find it terrible that the owners of the club assign such young and untrained people to regulate the crowd and control the entrance. I was confronted with abuse of power by the staff that evening. The staff was disrespectful and totally unprofessional, I've never seen that anywhere. I don't drink alcohol and I was accused of being drunk because I calmly explained to them that their behavior was inappropriate and disrespectful. Please owners, train your employees
BEST NIGHT EVER!!BEST DECISION EVER.I had so much fun music was amazing people, drinks so good.3 floors every floor a different music also the bathrooms had a different music everything so thought out someone who literally opens the door to get out security outside staff outside to welcome you bartenders every floor and the coolest rooms ever. They did tho trashed my boyfriends markers idk why.Not so nice anyways danced till it closed at 4 am and this was on Thursday the 15th 2024 WISH I WENT THERE AT THE BEGGING OF MY VACANCY not the last day.But made my whole staying the best ever.Im gonna come back to Amsterdam JUST FOR THIS. LOVE IT PLEASE GO THERE ONLY PLACE WITH FREE BATHROOMS AND FREE ENTRANCE the coolest place ive ever been to.LOVE IT THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING kisses from italy
I understand it is not an extravagant revenue but for 8€ on a donderdag, it is too much. The rooms with music are decent, but there is no security going around the rooms if something happens, the entrance security barely look in your bag if you have drugs or anything on you, when we wanted to smoke at the ground there is a door that you can get out to smoke but when we wanted to get in again he pushed us back and told us we had to stay at the que again, the same que with people just coming into the club. Instead of telling me “wait at the que you can’t come in”, you could be a security and search for my bag, see I have nothing and let me in.
Literally the maddest club I've ever been to. Every single room was insane. The toilets on the top floor are also another dance/music floor & then through a little passage you get to a rave cave. It was incredible. Highly recommend.
Claims to be a space for everyone but discriminates at the door, which goes against its ethos and everything the community stands for. Escape down the road took our money and we had a great night. Do better.
My friend got kicked out because "he looked too drunk" due to his eyes being not super open but he is in fact just wasian. This is after we payed 15 euros...
This place really impressed me. It did not seem like a gay bar at all. Each floor had its own vibe and great music. There was even a DJ in the bathroom on...
