About
COX Paris, a renowned gay bar located in the heart of the city, is a vibrant and essential destination for the LGBTQ+ community and allies. This bustling establishment is celebrated for its inclusive atmosphere and diverse crowd, making it a popular spot for both locals and tourists.
The bar's interior exudes a classic pub vibe, blending traditional elements with a modern flair. It's particularly known for its masculine and butch clientele, but the welcoming environment ensures everyone feels at home. The staff at COX are often praised for their friendliness and quirky nature, adding to the bar's unique charm.
One of the highlights of COX is its extended happy hours, which attract a lively crowd. The bar's location in the bustling Le Marais district adds to its appeal, placing it in the heart of Paris's gay scene. Patrons often spill onto the sidewalk, sipping beverages and socializing late into the night, creating a vibrant street-side atmosphere.
COX also features DJ sets and a dance floor, offering a perfect blend of a relaxed pub setting and a dynamic nightlife experience.
It's fine, but like all Paris gay bars half of the bar staff and clientele are friendly, or at least neutral, and half are obnoxiously/ aggressively rude, even when you do speak French and are polite to them or around them.I do enjoy this bar, but like all 'bear' bars in Paris, do not expect the friendly fun welcoming atmosphere that exists in every other bear bar around the world. If you manage expectations and order in French you can have an 'ok' time.
If you’re a tourist, stay away from this place. The older, short bartender (Anthony, I think was his name) was extremely rude. I’m pretty sure I was drugged there because I went from having a pleasant conversation to being unable to walk within a few minutes. I walked by next day, and he couldn’t even look at me in the eye. They only welcome older and French speaking locals. It’s a touristic area, and they expect people to speak French well for a 4 days weekend in Paris? I had worked with so many French tourists in the USA, and most of them didn’t speak English, but it wasn’t a reason to disrespect them or treat them poorly (we go out of our way to make sure they’re well taken care of). If you don’t want tourists in your establishment, make it clear; plenty of friendly options around. DO NOT TRUST HIM, you will regret it.
So professional staff. Good music. Amazing DJ (Old, but gold). Thank you so much. Special thanks for big Aperol (I never drink this big one - like a natural “beer”). Love you guys. Kiss
Cox is a very fun bar, I was there in the summer so everyone was standing out on the sidewalk talking and having a good time. Also, the bartenders are very nice so you will feel welcome. Try it out!

The bar staff was amazing and welcoming, and also very cute. Met plenty of good guys there just drinking and exchanging conversation. Can't wait to go back on my next visit!

What a great place! You can't beat a happy hour that runs until 10PM and after scoring a little high top table in the window, we settled in for a while....
