About
Tucked away in the heart of Le Marais, Duplex Bar Paris stands as a beacon for the LGBTQ+ community, embodying the spirit of Parisian nightlife with its artsy and unpretentious vibe. Known for its cozy ambiance, Duplex is celebrated for being one of the few bars in the bustling district where conversation flows as freely as the drinks. It attracts an eclectic crowd, from artsy intellectuals to locals looking for a laid-back evening, making it a prime spot for mingling and making new connections.
Duplex is not just any bar; it's an institution in the LGBTQ+ scene of Paris, noted for being the oldest gay bar in Le Marais. Its green façade is almost as inviting as the mixed crowd it hosts, ranging from the young and hip to the more mature, hetero-friendly clientele. Weekends at Duplex can get packed, but that's part of its charm, offering a genuine taste of local Parisian life.
The bar's music selection is as diverse as its patrons, with sounds ranging from disco to house, indie, pop, rock, and top 40 hits, ensuring that there's something for every taste. Despite its bustling nature, Duplex manages to maintain a low-key atmosphere, perfect for those who want to enjoy a night out without the overwhelming club scene.
Very busy on a Friday, we had to stand which was fine, but we weren't offered seats when they came available, they were given to other people. Not much choice of drinks ( no beers available) mostly cocktails
Keep the smoking room door closed, please! A non-smoker does not want to smell and stink after having a drink here... If the smokers cant stay in there with door closed, they can go outside...
Nice drinks. Great music. Lovely crowd. All about the crowd, really. :)The bouncer was quite rude when I asked him where I can smoke, and didn’t even direct me where to smoke, but his rudeness didn’t bother me tbh.
Came here for some drinks before going to a club, I was looking for a bar with dj more into electronic/techno, that day there was an amazing dj! (June 8th) the only bad things I’d say is that nobody was dancing even if the music was so good!To the costumers: guys you have a great place here don’t be boring 💋Bartenders were so lovely! I had 4 margaritasThere was also an interesting expo
I loved this place 2 years ago, the atmosphere was amazing!Unfortunately, it was a heat of hell!🔥🥵The waiters were sweaty, meager their good will to service irreproachable, the place is not maintained at all by the manager, the smoking room does not work, we are forced to go outside or leave the door open, in short, it is really unfair that the oldest gay bar in the Marais is abandoned by the owner of the Quetzal who is really well maintained.I do not understand this lack of respect for the clientele of the premises.Hoping that work will be undertaken before the Olympic Games.I will be pulling back to check the situation with my friends.Invest!!!💵💵💵💵💵💵💵💵💵💵💵💵💵💵💵💵💵💵💵💵💵💵💵💵💵💵💵💵💵💵💵💵💵💵💵💵💵💵💵💵James
This is such a great bar, very quiet early in the evenings, but it gets jam packed later in the night. They have a smoking room upstairs, and great bartenders serving delicious drinks.
Waiter goes for a cigarette instead of asking, what you want to drink, ok, I am not in a hurry. He even don’t ask, when coming back. There were two other guests. If this is the meaning of French hospitality, no thanks to this bar.
This bar is a lovely little gem of a place. Large selection of drinks. Attentive (and handsome) barman. Great selection of music playing. Will be coming back here next time I’m in Paris for sure.
This was a cool venue, a small bar but the staff were friendly and the atmosphere was cool…. I’d never seen a smoking room in a bar before and the upstairs is dominated by smoke from that room, but that adds to the atmosphere! The wall art is cool and the DJ was great! Definitely worth checking out!
Right in the middle of Marais, off of Beaubourg, chill vibe and friendly, English-speaking bartenders, youngish crowd, not terribly loud. What's not to like?
Great spot! I have been going there for the last 10 years with my gay friends and have always had a good time, even on quiet nights! People there are very interesting and easy going, which is a change for Paris bars...You can start a conversation up with the guy next to you! Always interesting people gathered and soon to be famous ones: met Jesse Tyler Ferguson there 7 years ago when he wasn't famous yet in LA. Very multicultural bar. The owners and staff are lovely and always smiling. The cocktails are well made and the prices of the drinks are reasonable for central Paris. To finish, the music is always good, different from the poor music you can hear at the radio. Could hear some old Madonna, great memories!Quality spot!A MUST GO!!!!
