Free Willie Amsterdam is new late-night nude bar that has sprung up from the creative minds behind the celebrated Club Church, it offers a unique hangout for the gay, queer, and trans communities. Located at Amstel 178, this bar champions a distinctive dress code - footwear only, though patrons can opt to wear underwear if they prefer. This rule adds a playful, freeing vibe to the space.
What sets Free Willie apart is not just its audacious concept but its inclusive spirit. Open to cis- and trans- gay & queer men, transwomen, non-binary individuals, and anyone who identifies with the queer community, it’s a melting pot of diversity. The bar features a beautiful pool table and provides a cozy lounge area, making it perfect for those looking to socialize in a more liberated setting.
Operationally, Free Willie is open six nights a week, from 20:00 to at least 04:00, with extended hours until 05:00 on weekends. Adding to its appeal are thematic nights like "Onesie Wednesday," where guests can don a single piece of clothing of their choice, ranging from swimwear to onesie.
The entrance is reasonable - €5, which includes a free drink. For those looking to make it a regular spot, a 10-visit card is available for €40, and there’s even free entry during the last two hours before closing.
Overall, Free Willie is a fresh, bold addition to Amsterdam’s LGBTQ+ nightlife, offering a space where freedom and fun meet inclusivity and openness. Whether you're there to enjoy the vibrant atmosphere or just to kick back with some like-minded folks, Free Willie offers a unique night out in the heart of Amsterdam.
I went there last Friday. Good place, very diverse people. The only thing is that one of the bartenders with a cowboy hat yelled at me because I couldn't understand what he was saying. That kinda ruined the vibe.
Love this place, the people and the stuff is very nice. The concept of the club is amazing, you definitely should check it out, when you are in Amsterdam.I'will definitely visit this location again 😁
It's a hit or miss with crowds. Sometimes busy sometimes dead. Only 5 euros entrance. Pool table. Several couches or sit at the bar. It can be very active. The types of people there vary but mostly middle to older age. But there are some young too
I’ve been looking forward to trying here since it opened in December and went twice last week when visiting Amsterdam and really enjoyed it.It’s modern, cosy and cruisey inside. The staff are really friendly and seeing the Ukrainian bartender with nothing but a smile definitely makes you want to return 😉If you go here and enjoy, please spread the word so that it gets busier and sustainable 😊
Friday night was my second visit to this wonderful new place in Amsterdam. Friendly, approachable guys working here, helping you feel comfortable as soon as you enter. They explain how things work here, where to change clothes and then give you a wrist band to retrieve your items before you leave. I like how you just show your wristband number to the bar and then you pay when you leave. The prices are so low, I thought they missed something, but it's just normal pricing for drinks, not jacked up since it's in a tourist area.I had so much fun each time. The lighting is at perfect levels, not too light, not to dark, bathrooms are modern and clean, with several toilets. The music is not too loud, which is super annoying at the other most famous location in Amsterdam - which is owned by the same group.I look forward to returning Free Willies soon.
Never been here but what a cool conceptNote to owners: please make sure you spend a lot of money on international marketing, this place could be huge given the very unique ambiance
Letting straight people in and let them laugh at is like a circus monkey ridiculous. Never have felt so unsafe and uncomfortable. And bar staff doesn't understand protection of lgbtq+Update: contacted me and policy will be lgbtq+ friendly, appreciated personal contact. Good safe space now

The first time I couldn't enter as they closed early. A few days later I was back and I'm glad I did, the place is really nice and the staff is very helpful and welcoming. It's a new place so I feel they're still getting explored by different people and there's no specific type of "regulars" yet, can't wait to visit again in the future.
Have been here already 2 times in the first month, and both times a had a great time. Friendly and honest staff explains at the entrance what to expect. System at the cloakroom works well, you get a wristband with a number where they put everything on (drinks/number cloakroom), that's quite handy because it's a nude bar, and nude it is. Dimmed lighting and music gives a relaxed vibe, quite surprised how people easily socialized with each other. Keep up the good work guys!
