About
The George and Dragon in Greenwich is a real gem for the gay community. Think fab drag shows with stars like Tanya Hyde and Lola Lasagne, plus karaoke nights that are a total blast. It's the kind of place where you can dance till late and feel like you're part of a big, fun family. Just a stone's throw from historic Greenwich, this pub's got that cool, laid-back vibe that makes you want to hang out all night. Perfect for a night out with friends or when you're in the mood for some top-notch cabaret. It's more than just a pub; it's like the heart of the local gay scene.
I really like this place and am so glad it still exists as an LGBT+ establishment in SE London—it’s an important and valued part of the community. The venue itself is impressively large, offering plenty of space to enjoy, but it’s a shame that it’s not busier when I do visit. They put on some fantastic drag shows, which are always entertaining and a real highlight of the venue. The drinks are reasonably priced too, which makes it a great option for a night out without breaking the bank. One thing I’ve noticed is that there often seems to be far more staff than necessary, especially during quieter times. While it’s nice to see the team ready to serve, it does make the space feel a bit underutilized.I really wish the marketing for this place were stronger. It has so much potential to become the go-to destination for locals. Too often, people from SE London travel all the way to Central London for a night out, only to complain about the lack of options closer to home. This venue could easily fill that gap with the right promotion and visibility. It’s a gem that deserves more recognition, and I hope more people start to discover and appreciate it for what it offers!
Fun gay bar based in Deptford Bridge/Greenwich.Close to transport links. We've always had fun here. From the music, drag shows and the super friendly bar staff (especially Sam)If you want something different than the expensive Soho bars. This one is for you!
Been off and on for the past 10 years, arrive later for a livelier atmosphere, prices are great, staff are friendly and music and acts are enjoyable. What’s not to like!
Good atmosphere. Need to get there before last entry because you won't be able to twist their arm 😅 apologies for last review, I wasn't aware of all facts.
Nice enough place very clean and tidy. Reasonable entry fee and nice enough staff. Only caught the last 10 mins of the act but seemed to go down well. Little sparsely decorated but that's hardly an issue. Standard drinks available at average prices.
I love this place. All the comfort of a friendly local pub, with regular fun drag acts. If that's your thing, you should definitely give this place a go.
Great little local pub, but best to arrive before 10 as to avoid the door fee.We saw Mrs Moore; it was a great show and very funny, great singer and professional.
Basic gay pub possibly dated to some but I love it there even though drinks bit over priced the entertainment is always great and you feel welcome I will always support old school gay venues and this one is a gem
Went on Sunday for the bank holiday super Sunday . Fantastic friendly vibe and great atmosphere. The 3 acts singing together at the end was so poignant and emotional , great end to 3 amazing performances. Long may this pub continue to keep us entertained x
Was open for the football yesterday, before the football there was top class cabaret in the style of song and comedy from 4pm … fantastic staff and venue !!
Can’t believe this place exists in Lewisham! The drag shows are wonderful and amazingly free entry. Very nice decor and atmosphere inside. Highly recommend for a night out, this sort of thing would cost fortune in central London. Just bear in mind that the night starts quite late (best to arrive around 10/11PM).
This place is fantastic. I was visiting from out of the country and I felt like I was at home. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, the service was quick and attentive, and the show I saw with Tanya and the Duchess was INCREDIBLE! Definitely worth going.
I love this bar and I'm sad that I'm only learning of this place just now. Friendly staff, cheap beer and a mechanical horse on the wall is what I'd like to...
A must go queer place in London !Just amazing, the atmosphere is so cool and the decoration makes it all !Just go and check by yourself !Everyone's welcome !

Great pub with a good atmosphere, really gets going just before they kick you out. Guest DJ's and random nick nackery add to the atmosphere. Look out...
