The GI Joe Sauna is the most popular and largest sauna in Quebec, 14,000 sq.ft. of pleasure, spread over four floors as well as a large roof terrace, the atmosphere was recently renewed decor, it remains between others, the place of the most beautiful guys who come from around the world where everyone finds his fantasies without compromise.
Please pay attention to the music, everything is good but the music choice is horrible. Nobody enjoys fun while remixes of female pop songs are playing in the background. The last time I was here a Katy Perry song was playing during a moment which really ruined the experience. It has to be masculine music.
It was my first time here since around 2017 and I really liked it. The guy at reception had a great vibe and there was no pretension unlike Oasis which has some really off guys at reception. The steam was great and everything was sparkling clean and the guys who were there were amazing and lots of fun. I had no problem walking around in full view if you know what I mean felt great to be amongst men. I only took off one star for the jacuzzi as it seems hazardous to enter it and exit, I would recommend a short stairs or something it was really uncomfortable.
David is always welcoming smiling and sweet and the guys here are always better looking than the oasis and gi Joe always clean!! I highly recommend you come here and not over there !!!
Second update: A 0- star star only for this simple reason that has yet occurred again You ask for a simple room you dont want one that costs 26$ with mirror and tv as i never asked for one I can afford to go to the sauna year round but dont screw customers over if youre having a more quieter day Everywhere else i go i dont have this problem and for that reason you just lost a customer!
Thank you for saving my day! I made the mistake of thinking that going to Oasis was a good idea. How wrong I was!I truly enjoyed my visit, and I look forward to returning to Mtl to pay another visit.
Visiting Montreal and my first time visiting a sauna ..Contrary to some comments the front desk guys was very nice to me …it was a nice experience I dint stay for long cause it was my first time of course lol ! I was nervous
Here's an explainer for visitors to Montreal. The Gay Village is now overrun by addicts, the unhoused, and the unbalanced. Most of my friends in Montreal will not set foot in the neighborhood. What this has to do with the saunas is the clientele. Unlike, say, Toronto, you do not get a wide swath of the population at the baths. Here, it's people who have ingested substances, have nowhere else to go, or, occasionally, have saved up donations so they can pay for a place to sleep and bathe. It's your money, and maybe $33+ is not a lot for you. But you'll see for yourself this is not a high-quality mix of people.
This place seems to be pulling a scam. When I came in, I was informed they only had rooms with mirrors or TVs. Those cost more. Inside, mine of the rooms were occupied-it was a weekday afternoon. It's a little pathetic for a business to make a buck or two extra off of customers this way, but GI Joe is recovering from many months offline, so they may be desperate.I'm sure the owners are going to respond with some kind of sarcastic nonsense, but just keep this is mind if you plan to spend money here. Is pretty clear the front-line people have been instructed to lie during quieter periods to try and pad the receivables.
This is not a bath house. It’s 4 floors, 99% rooms. Broken wet sauna, tiny dry sauna, broken showers. People walk through the whole thing with their shoes on while people are barefoot because some of the lockers are located on the top floor.
No wonder why it’s one of the best sauna in Montreal, I like the layout of this place, Finnish sauna is nice and clear, rooftop patio is relaxing, Jucuzzi is average size bit small for a sauna, reasonable price, I went on wed 6-8pm, isn’t busy but I would recommend this place, staff are nice.
Clean and with lots of rooms. However the facilities are very disappointing. An extremely small jacuzzi (fits max 4-5 ppl) and not many shared spaces. Also, they charge for everything (even additional towels and water). Better options nearby
What a disappointment!! I visited after their much advertised Reno. The place is big - definitely. But it’s all empty space and rooms. They have one tiny dry spa (that was lukewarm) one tiny wet sauna (that was damp and lukewarm) and one Costco 4person hot tub. Not even a commercial tub. Huge waste of space. The beautiful roof is.. empty. Some chairs. Avoid! Lots of guys but no facilities so if you just want to walk around then it’s the place.
Congrats on the re-opening great renovations done usual very nice customers and the usual pleasant tourists as well My only pet peeve prices have jacked up a little higher therefore i will be going there more during the weekday when i can make it!
I was unlucky, the light in my room was broken, the room was dirty and smelled of piss, behind the door there was half a bottle of Pepsi, it seemed to me that the employee had not cleaned the room. I went downstairs, to resolve the issue another employee told me we don't have another room at the moment. after waiting half an hour. kindly I ask for refund, the guy replied rudely, we don't refund, ok I went back to the same room, the room was cleaned without linen and no light I found out that my shoes disappeared (stolen). I went back home barefoot.
So my I.D says male, yet they wouldn't let me in because I look to female. Absolutely disgraceful. Didn't know businesses were aloud to discriminate by looks, instead of going by their government given identification. Good to know 👍🏼
they tried overcharging me at entrance and blamed it on “miscommunication”. the staff are so rude and reading how they respond to the other reviews here, it’s clear they don’t understand how to take feedback and have no intention of improving. sauna was big but dirty, smelly and full of creepy men. 0 stars. absolutely do not recommend this place.
It’s was my first time today(Tuesday night) i come around 11h30 and left at 2am. Everyone is really chill. It’s pretty much a free for allThe customer service is amazing they are very nice. I would go again for sure
An overall great clean place where you can spend a lot of time going up and down the stairs cruising around Customers are very nice more down to earth not like the crowd at Coloniale I can still manage to catch a few winks of sleep as well as much as the music is quite loud a bit of a pet peeve for me My 3 star rating is for the fact im often told that the only rooms left are those with mirrors which is not the case at all Trying to make that extra quick buck lying in the way that you do is not really very nice! The customers overall are very nice the people at the front can use some improvement!
Just a quick note to thank you for the room and your flexibility to accommodate me during Pride. I highly appreciate it knowing how crazy it was in terms of attendance.Staff been amazing for me and I only have good words about the business so well run. Thanks again
The truth is that the facilities are super modern, the staff that served me were super friendly and very respectful. I give them 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ My room that I rented for which is great.. and that is that it was early Monday morning and if there was movement
Health Department responsible to visit all the Sunna a lot of think Not healthy, many people they infected by HIV and AIDS and many different kind disease this is not good the future for people this place very dirty, and very loud music, some people they sell drugs the traffic
So my I.D says male, yet they wouldn't let me in because I look to female. Good to know that even in Canada I'm to in-between to be aloud in most spaces. Absolutely disgraceful. Didn't know businesses were aloud to discriminate by looks, instead of going by their government given identification. Good to know 👍🏼
The worst sauna I ever visited! If you like fat and old guys you will enjoy the place for sure ! Otherwise the sauna was almost empty this Saturday… I just lost my money…
I'm visiting Montreal. I've been to saunas all over the world. This is one of the worst. It's dirty and run-down. It seems to reflect the decline of Montreal's gay village, which is sad.

Very nice clean place staff and the people are very nice as well not the Coloniale crowd thankfully! Although its a real maze getting around and you can find yourself just going in circles on the same floor lol Jacuzzi is rather small although very clean just watch your step after you shower as its quite dark Music is a little loud but not enough to irritate you
First time, gay international traveler. Very complete service includes lube & profilactic in a playground-full sauna with good-looking men from all sizes and ages. Staff is friendly and credit card is accepted (important for those who have limited access to cash).
Went back for another reality check. Worst than ever.If you are looking for crystal meth zombies and arrogant staff, that's the place. This place is so dirty with a lingering disgusting smell of feces all over the place. No soap on the second floor's bathrooms either. No access to cold drinking water - they want you to buy the bottle ones @ 2.50$ from the vending machine. You can't go any lower than that. Once upon a time but not anymore Mortréal.... In sync with the rest of the (no longer gay) Village Sans Valeur.
Overall an ok place. I went during pride so it was super busy. Lots of men there, from 30s through 50s. Several play rooms and lots of action going on. The only problem is it's not much of a bath house. There's one Jacuzzi, two steam rooms, and two small banks of showers. That's it. It's mostly just private rooms. I've seen YMCA's with better bathing facilities. otherwise it's fine.
AVOIDThis place should be avoided due to their rude staff.Super rude front desk staff. This particular short bearded long haired man is very rude with clients. He often rolls his eyes when clients arrive and disrupt him from his Grindr conversations on his cellphone.Tonight I saw a client asking why he can’t be a little friendly with customers and he simply replied “come here do my job to see how it is, you can always leave if you are not happy”. The staff then talks to another man with grey hair behind the counter who says “don’t let him in if he’s complaining” and then he simply throws his money back to the client and said “byeeee” with a sarcastic smile.

If you are loooking for crystal meth zombies and arrogant staff - that includes the guy in the photo from the previous post - always pushing for the most expensive rooms even when the place is empty, that's your place. In sync with the rest of the (no longer gay) Village Sans Valeur.

Probably one of the best saunas out there, if they had a better wet area I would give them the 5 stars... Great that they have a patio and smoking area, sucks at other baths having to get dressed to go out to smoke. Staff are great, they don't make you empty out your bag and pockets like you're trying to smuggle something in like some bathouses... Funny enough there's always the things in those other baths that they are trying to keep out whereas here I've never seen anyone as messy as I have in the other baths.
We are visiting from Israel , went yesterday around midnight. After 20 min we left the place. The crowd was mostly older guys , bears and so.The jacozi is super smallThe rooms was clean but had bads small and the bed was disgusting! Is it bad cover looked very old with many holy on it.Don't think we will come back
Open again with the same old crowd, durty facilities and to top the cake, 50% increase on the cost of a room on a Sunday night = 33$. In addition, 1$ charged for changing towel. Sorry but you lost a regular patron, never to return there again. Pride, sure.....Club Meth all over! Mixed with the bad music with ads (that's how cheap they are...) you can hear blow torch clicks at every corners... Breaking Bad Live.

CHARGING FOR TOWELS? REALLY?I'm happy with the reopening , but Is it not enough you guys manipulate the prices all the time, bad and rude customer service and now do we have to pay extra when sometimes we need to change the towels?I have never seen it at Oasis, Steamworks in Toronto or USA. Unfortunately you guys are losing a regular customer.

This is by far the biggest sauna in North America, but that's just about the only good thing to appreciate, The rooms are small, not well cleaned, mirrors have greasy hand prints, and bed sheets are scrawny and torn, floors may have broken glass, due to shattered drug pipes, best to wear your shoes and keep your eyes open. The staff attitudes needs adjusting...well let's just say that customer service is not their strong point,, rules change by the hour, They Ban good clients for no good reason and the "insider corruption" is when they really nail you with accusations That end up costing you money!... even if they are entirely in error themselves - So be Vigilant & ask for receipts..they can save you from unnessesary problems and Lastly..the crowd are mostly drug users/sellers and that's a fact! This was once a good sauna that has turned for the worst, I would have given them 5 stars but then I would be lying, they want good reviews, then they should earn them!
I found this sauna to be adventurous with several floors for cruising. Guys weren't too pushy and a big mix. Other sauna nearby seemed to be more boring with big open concept and one age group that could be quite pushy and not take no for an answer.
This place is huge! 3 indoor levels above ground plus a rooftop terrace and a basement level. Very clean. Lots of play spaces. A fully stocked, private dungeon that you can rent, it's glass enclosed so you and your victims will be on display. Free lube and condoms. A large selection of toys for purchase as well. Crowd is 30 plus.
