Hafen Berlin, located in Schöneberg, is a must-visit spot for anyone looking to experience the city’s LGBTQ+ nightlife. This iconic gay bar, established in the early '90s, offers a welcoming and casual atmosphere that's perfect for both locals and tourists.
Situated on Motzstraße near Nollendorfplatz, Hafen is easily accessible and right in the heart of Berlin's gay district. The bar is renowned for its friendly staff and vibrant ambiance, making it a great place to relax and meet new people. Regular events, including karaoke and themed parties, ensure there's always something fun happening.
Hafen's historical significance adds to its charm, with rumors that the real-life Sally Bowles once visited this spot, adding a touch of old-world glamour to its modern appeal. The outdoor seating is particularly popular during warm nights, creating a lively and social environment.
For a genuine taste of Berlin’s queer culture, Hafen is the place to be. It’s not just a bar; it’s a beloved institution that captures the spirit of the city’s LGBTQ+ community.
This bar is a small and cozy spot, perfect for a drink before heading to a club. Inside, it has a few small rooms that create a relaxed and intimate vibe, making it easy to hang out with friends or meet new people. It’s not a big or fancy place, but that’s part of its charm. The drinks are reasonably priced, and the atmosphere is warm and casual. Plus, it’s located near other similar bars, so it’s a great starting point for a night out. A nice little gem worth checking out.
Very lovely location. Unfortunately the smoking area is not separated by a door. (Which would be super easy to do.) So basically, it's useless and the whole bar smells more terrible over the evening.Very annoying: sometimes you can pay with card, but mostly they don't allow it so one is forced to pay cash. (Come on, it's 2025!)Prices and drinks are okay though.
One of my favorite places ever! The cocktails are d e l i c i o u s! And the barman Chris is one hell of a sassy, friendly, chill bloke who leaves no stone unturned to make sure you have the best time at this cute little dive bar with many nooks and crannies! The vibe is cool and chic and absolutely effortless. Loved it!
I upgrade my review from 3 to 4. it's solid. It's a go to place with the what you expect is what you get flair. But there is one thing that needs to be...
Nice bar with friendly staff behind the bar wh9 mix some decent drinks. It's a mixed crowd here with friendly vibes. The toilets though, the stench of urine and ammonia is overpowering and completely put me off going back.
Nice enough place but very busy and not many places to sit. Also the WiFi didn’t work presumably because everyone was on it, once you walk in the phone loses signal. I left because I couldn’t communicate with no signal 🙁 otherwise a nice place.
LGBTQIA+ bars should be welcoming for everyone. They should be a safe space for people from all over the world to gather and show love and respect for each other.Unfortunately, this bar has involved itself in a political issue and has taken a side that has alienated a large number of people who are against brutal war crimes. That‘s why I‘m boycotting Hafen and I hope everyone does the same.
Hafen is a lovely dance bar located in the gay district. The bar is not huge, but there is enough space to move around. It offers great drinks and a good vibe. Sometimes, the music could be a bit loud, but it is good for dancing. There is a smoking room at the back if someone needs it.
