On 28 December 2024, I made a reservation for four nights starting on 13 February 2025. Unfortunately, I made this booking in error and contacted the hotel on 29 December through the “Chat with us” link provided in the booking confirmation email. When I received no reply, I followed up by sending an email to [email protected], the email address listed in the confirmation. After still receiving no response, I sent a second email on 7 January 2025.As I live in Australia, the 16-hour time difference has made follow-up attempts by phone challenging and unsuccessful. To date, I have yet to receive any response from the hotel.I acknowledge that I selected the nonrefundable option when making full payment at the time of booking. However, I have been attempting to request special consideration for a refund, given that I contacted the hotel to cancel within 24 hours of making the reservation and nearly two months before the scheduled arrival date - ample time to rebook the room.Their excessively strict cancellation policy is one issue, but the lack of any response to my inquiries and the complete failure to engage with me reflects poor customer service.Jorge Anthony (djMe)

Our Studio King was spacious, spotless, and came with a handy kitchenette. Sure, the décor leans toward “simple chic,” but who needs over-the-top luxury when everything is functional and clean? Plus, the bed was so comfortable that getting up for breakfast felt like a personal betrayal. Speaking of breakfast…The included breakfast was a bit of a mixed bag—not gourmet, but hey, it was free! A touch of disorganization added to the charm, and the staff’s smiles and willingness to help more than made up for it. And let’s talk about that staff—they were absolutely top-notch. Friendly, helpful, and always up for a laugh, they embodied the warm and welcoming vibe that the Gaythering is all about.The hotel’s location is the cherry on top. It’s close to everything, with a handy little supermarket right next door for those last-minute snacks or late-night cravings. My husband and I stayed here for one night last week. Our room was clean and the AC worked great. It was a short walk to the shops/restaurants on Lincoln Rd and not too far to the beach. If you don’t want to walk, there are bikes you can borrow. The staff was friendly and helpful and it seems like there’s a lot that goes on at the hotel itself (unfortunately we missed Sunday funday). We’re a straight couple and felt very comfortable here and enjoyed the vibe 🙂Graham Dickey

Every time me and my husband come to Miami, we stay at the Gaythering. The customer service is incredibly welcoming and super professional. The rooms, bar and sauna are very clean and the clientele is always friendly. The area is absolutely the best, right by Lincoln Road so you can walk to all the shops, restaurants and the beach! This is one of the coolest bar/hotel concepts around, and it’s only about a mile’s walk from the beach. I did have an issue with a promo code and my booking, but Al at the front desk handled it for me beautifully, and Angel, Chase, and the management team went above and beyond to make sure I was happy with my stay. I also had my sauna key fall off my wristband at one point, and a little while later, in came Al to the rescue with my recovered key. Excellent service. Just after 2am, I tried to access the lobby to fill up my water cup, and the door was locked. Alejandro, who I believe is the sauna attendant, came out to see what I needed, and even offered me a bottle of water. Him and Tony were very kind when I was up being an insomniac in the middle of the night. Also, Rome, the bartender is super chill, and seems to genuinely want people to have a good time, as is Melissa (I hope that’s her name). I also love that they have bar snacks now! Can recommend, and I will definitely stay here again.Jeff ..

I've stayed here twice and both times were amazing. The hotel itself is amazing but the true selling point is the staff. From management to front desk, to the bartenders and house keeping, every single individual is full of warmth, patience, and are just overall amazing humans. I had a mixup with my room on my recent trip but the staff immediately went into action on helping rectify the issue and you would think with the attention to detail they give to their guests you were staying at a lavish 5 star resort. The hotel is small but the rooms are really spacious and it's VERY gay friendly not just the clientele but also culture. They literally had a meeting saying "if I was a gay man coming to Miami what would I want" and they checked every single box for all the different types of gay men who would frequent Miami. 100% recommendBricen Bunt

My boyfriend and I recently had a fantastic stay at this hotel. We can honestly say that it is one of the best hotel accommodations we have ever experienced in Miami. The location is perfect, with plenty of nearby shops, bars, and restaurants. The rooms are not only spacious, clean, and creatively designed, but also reasonably priced. The service was excellent, with nice and friendly staff who were very easy and chill to talk to. The bar and the events are well-managed. I particularly enjoyed their happy hour specials and bingo nights. Additionally, they offer a free and delicious continental breakfast that ends at 11 am, which is a major plus. Overall, it was an amazing stay, and it was our first visit to the hotel, but I'm sure it won't be our last.Julian Sanchez

Came to the hotel and I was checked in to a dirty room. Half used bar soap or maybe fully used bar soap dried out sitting on top where the towel area is. I’ve been at 11:56 PM and night had to clean my own bathroom. I went down to the desk and asked for cleaning products late. Not only that the door lock to the balcony does not lock. It is not secured on the second floor room 2090. That is very much a safety hazard. I was told that I should not be worried because no one is going to scale to the second floor balcony. But that is very much not true. Nor does it mean that it shouldn’t be secured or locked. I am not happy nor satisfied with my stay and I’ve stayed here several times. What a way to greet me back after not visiting for a whole year.! Just a horrible experience no managers are empowered to help unless there is a general manager. All they tell you is send your pictures to my email and the general manager He can. Hopefully, I hear back from a general manager so we can rectify the issues. If not, I’ll just do my diligence by leaving reviews on other sites such as TripAdvisor Expedia, so on so forth.Chris M.

Me and partner (early 30's from Canada) stayed here for a few days on either side of a cruise. From the moment we arrived everyone was so friendly and welcoming.Chase, who worked the front desk during the day, was SO kind and a particular stand-out that made our stay especially memorable. He always made sure we were having a good time and had everything we needed throughout our stay.The breakfast was excellent and definitely exceeded our expectations. It was above par for other hotels within the area and price range, and we liked that it was served until 11:00. The room was quiet and clean, the bed was comfortable, and the AC was very nice.This place has a great sense of community and we loved sitting at the bar throughout the afternoons/evenings chatting and sharing a laugh with others. This is my 3rd winter break coming to this hotel and the customer service has always been stellar. The hosts are very helpful to answer any questions or assist with any issues. They seem to appear to genuinely care about their guests. It's definitely not a quiet hotel but they provide a noise machine that works well. The room is always super clean. It's really cool being at a hotel where I'm not the only gay guy in a space. It's a special gem. The cleanliness, lovely breakfast and attentive customer service will get me to come back next year.Criss Gunz

My husband and I stayed 4 nights here, and I must say it was a wonderful experience! The whole staff was extremely attentive, front desk was very helpful, he gave us a lot of recommendations on restaurants and suggestions on things to do. We were celebrating our wedding anniversary, Our room was very clean and neatly decorated. Irma, our housekeeper, was the sweetest lady. The bartenders were knowledgeable and friendly. Witty. Stylish. Top Tier hospitality. My husband and I had the time of our lives staying at this awesome hotel. From the incredible front desk staff, to the sweetest housekeeper ever (Irma), to the AMAZING owner, Alex—the Hotel Gaythering provides an all-encompassing, thoughtful experience that is truly unforgettable. At the bar you get to rub elbows with the locals and really experience the Miami Beach lifestyle first hand. The decor throughout the hotel makes you feel like you’ve been transported to an art exhibit with a sense of humor. Our room was clean and fully stocked with the essentials. The hotel is located in the most perfect part of South Beach. You are a few steps from Lincoln Road Mall and some of the best restaurants the beach has to offer. This was my first time in Miami and I can say that I have not been disappointed! Gaythering hotel was just a wonderful experience and I will return without any hesitation. The staff is exceptionally friendly and makes you feel comfortable from the minute you walk into the lobby. Many thanks to Keith from NYC and Melissa (I hope I got the right name) for their warm welcome and friendliness. The rooms (and the hotel in general) are very clean. The sauna and bar of the hotel are a real plus that attracts many people from Miami and different regions of the world. My partner and I spent last week here (Dec. 26 - 30) and had a great time! Our room was clean, the hotel was conveniently located to a lot of fun things (beaches, bars, restaurants, shopping), the bike rentals were easy to coordinate, the staff was amazing. Free breakfast daily was perfect and evening entertainment with local drag queens was so much fun. The bar crowd was lively and friendly, and we didn’t mind coming back to the hotel to end our nights out every night. The sauna was super relaxing and very fun - a MUST visit. The only thing that would’ve made our visit perfect is better sound proofing throughout; after a long day out, falling asleep to the sounds of bar patrons partying and music blasting wasn’t ideal (didn’t last very late but late enough). Thoroughly enjoyed my 3-night stay in an XL crate room (adequate room for 1-2 people). The staff are really friendly. Plenty of common areas if you feel like being social. The shared showers and bathrooms were really clean, as were the rooms and the sauna. I did spend most of the time at the sauna and highly recommend checking it out even if you're not staying at the hotel.The one thing I'd do differently next time is to choose the refundable fares while booking the rooms. I had to change my travel plan last-minute because of the snowstorm and airline issues (the management did refund some of the money tho!).Just got back, but already thinking about when I can visit again.Christopher Wallace Solstice

This hotel was waaaaaaay better than expected! I was actually nervous because the price was so good. Even there are pet fees and parking 🅿️ fees the price was great (which you should expect because it’s MB) BUT you have book through them (which we did).The location is perfect- just 2 minutes from the start of Lincoln Road Plaza. The room was exceptional and had a neat theme. We are not late people so we didn’t get to know the sauna or the bar but it was totally cool looking. Oh, and the staff was totally cool! Just finished a 4 night stay at this amazing place and I will definitely be back for more. The room was spotless and smelled so clean on arrival.The hotel staff and bar staff were super friendly.The bar is a great place to meet people from all over and there’s something going on there every day.The bar is so fun, I noticed that even off-duty hotel staff hangout there with their friends when off the clock.On that note - my boyfriend and I went to the other bars during our visit and found ourselves eager to get back to the hotel bar because the crowd was way more enjoyable and the venue much more welcoming than the other spots.And if you’re looking for some extracurriculars, the sauna has you covered. 😉Don’t hesitate to book your stay. Came to visit during art Basel this past weekend! Just for a few hours. It was an amazing event going on Friday night .. They had gay art everywhere. We were able to mingle with the artist and see different variations of art work! Bartenders were attentive and friendly! Thank you for the good time. My partner and I stayed for a few days while on a Florida vacation and loved it. Angel at the desk was phenomenal and from check-in until check-out, he was incredibly friendly and helpful. Matt, the GM, was also very nice when covering a shift on Sunday. I studied hotel management so I'm always looking at the servicescape and they really did a nice job and I even saw a, assumingly, odd occurrence happen with a guest while I was sitting outside, and the team handled it with a lot of grace and professionalism. We had fun the whole time and the room was quite large and well-appointed with lots of little extras. The sauna is very clean and has a variety of amenities for use. We will definitely be back... hopefully more often. A hotel similar to this would be my dream property when I semi-retire someday. Thanks for the great stay!!Caleb Will D.

Before of the pandemic we went to the hotel a couple of times, we decided to return on spring this year. The hotel was renovated. The hotel is immaculate, the staff are so helpful and kind, and the layout was gorgeous. One thing that stuck out to me was that the soap in the shower had eucalyptus and lavender as scents and I felt like they cleaned very well. I’ve stayed at Hotel Gaythering three times and every single time was unforgettable.The rooms are very clean, the sheets and pillows are comfortable, and the ambience is phenomenal.They offer free bikes to ride around south beach, free beach towels, beach umbrellas, ice… they really have everything.Gaythering also has the best gay sauna in Miami right downstairs, and hotel guests have free access to it! Oh! I almost forgot to mention the gay bar with drag shows, games and karaoke!The staff is so accommodating and welcoming! They make me feel at home! I stayed here Wednesday night. The staff were very nice and accommodating. The bartenders were great. The “crate” I was in was very nice. It was basically the size of an average hotel room. I was expecting smaller. I would definitely stay here and recommend others. When I checked in I told the guy helping me that if the hold for incidentals was more than $50 that I wanted to use a different card. He tells me yeah we’re going to need another card. I ask him how much their hold was to decide which credit card I would use. He tells me there’s not a set number but if you only have $50 on your card that won’t cover if you break something. Whatever his intentions were by saying that, it came off condescending. Especially since all your furniture is attached to room and there is nothing to break .I decided to just ignore it in the moment to avoid getting upset.Everyone else there were great so it turned out fine. But I would suggest not saying something like that to someone. Even if you weren’t trying to be condescending it very much was. So I knocked it down a star.Jo Balz

This is my new favorite hot spot to stay in south beach Miami. This is a quaint little hotel with sexy vibes. Everything about the place is great. The service was wonderful, the breakfast was delicious, there were events most night that attracted some of Miami’s hottest men. The spa was exceptional!!! Mens only including a hot tub, steam room, sauna, and showers. I got to meet a lot of the men who were staying there and it was a wonderful way to blow off some steam. I can’t wait to go back!Cory C.

In love with this place, what a gem in South Beach! My husband and I celebrated my birthday and a Miami Xmas escape from NYC for the first time. We came across this lovely home-away-from-home through friends. We had originally booked two nights to start, but the whole experience was so friendly and comfortable that we extended through the rest of our week's stay. The place is quaint, sexy, beautifully curated, and the service impeccable. The staff is always smiling and attentive, with a sense of humor. The complimentary breakfast is super spoiling - oh, and the in-house bar is so much funnnn. Honestly can't say enough good things. Haven't had a proper hotel experience like this in many years and had to pass this along. Until next time - thanks boys!Weidong Y.

Lovely hotel and the free bike and chair rental is really helpful for me who went to the beach. Beach is very close if you ride a bike. Also, friendly staff...jack bachus

Very good value for the price without sacrificing quality. Extremely nice and caring staff. Couldn’t ask for a best visit. Only issue with the rooms is they don’t have any sort of fridge or way to easily get ice. So hopefully they fix that. Otherwise very fun and enjoyableUpdate: apparently the have fridges available. It just wasn’t in our room.Simone P

Where do I begin? I had been looking for a hotel and found this one. I'm Les and had never stayed at a gay hotel. From the moment I called for info, everyone was incredible! We arrived after midnight and were still welcomed by friendly smiles. Breakfast was amazing! Loved taking advantage of the free bike rental. A gentleman even helped us map a course and adjust our bikes. Truly phenomenal experience. We felt taken care of. Only thing I'd add is an alarm clock to the room. Otherwise, our stay was without flaw. I left feeling like I didn't deserve these kind men. Truly above and beyond service!Servet Y.
