About
Plastic Ivy Sauna, located in Leeds Road in Dewsbury, is a well-established venue catering to gay and bisexual men in the Yorkshire area. Situated approximately a 20-minute drive from Leeds, this discreet facility offers a range of amenities across two floors. Visitors can unwind in the 5-man spa pool, 8-man sauna cabin, or the 10-man steam room. For those seeking more private spaces, there are rest rooms, cruising areas, dark rooms, and glory hole stand-up cabins. The venue also features a cafeteria, television lounge, free internet café, and Wi-Fi, ensuring guests have access to refreshments and connectivity during their stay. Lockers, changing rooms, showers, and towels are provided for convenience. Plastic Ivy Sauna operates from 12:00 PM to 10:00 PM, Wednesday through Monday, and remains closed on Tuesdays. The venue is easily accessible, being just a short walk from Dewsbury train and bus stations, and a brief drive from the M1 and M62 motorways. This makes it a convenient option for those traveling from Leeds, Bradford, Huddersfield, Wakefield, and Barnsley. The exterior of the building is intentionally understated, featuring only the number "33" to maintain discretion. Upon arrival, guests can enter directly through the black door into the lobby, where staff are available to assist. For those driving, free parking is available in designated areas, with additional options at the nearby Cliffe Street council car park.
I usually go to Northwich sauna and in comparison to that plastic ivy is nowhere near I have been to saunas all over Manchester ,London and penmaenmawr(closed now) . They were all better than the plastic ivy ...but was ok.
£3 for a can of pop and twix, which had clearly been in the fridge for months probably out of date, plus the staff are cheeky and weird highly NOT recommended.
Excellent sauna , friendly and helpful staff , everything worked, nothing out out of order, and because I got there when it opened I paid £13.50 to get in , which is a bargain . Plenty of guys , decent age range , plenty of action. I'll definitely go again.
Used to be a regular 20 years back when I lived locally. Visited a few weeks ago when on holiday nearby - very little had changed! Pleasant atmosphere, very clean, staff were welcoming. Was not particularly busy (Fri late afternoon/early evening) and a couple of customers seemed very standoffish, but others were much more friendly. Best bit was the jacuzzi, and the steam room was good too. Other parts feel a bit cramped. I wouldn't rush to visit again, but if I'm in the area on a cold wet day you never know.
Was very nervous as it was my first time going but the staff were very wonderful and accommodating! It was very easygoing, facilities were lovely and although the place isn’t huge it feels great to explore 😉
It was ok, door service was not friendly (and confusing, all in all did not feel very welcoming), especially compared to other places, and they force an extra membership fee on you even for one-off tourists and deny entry if you don't pay it, which makes no sense. Also went at peak after-work time on a Friday and there were hardly many people there.Won't return.
It was nice to visit Plastic Ivy for the first time.Quick and friendly customer service.Nice facilities. Nice steamy steam room.Met couple of nice people with no attitude like others places.Happy to visit again soon even it is a bit far to travel to.
been there few times - very few people, near empty.poor customer care - staff are unfriendly and rude.s**t in one lock-up on two occasions - had to tell...
