X-Baar in Tallinn is a legendary spot and the oldest gay bar in Estonia. Open since 1998, this venue is an iconic gathering place for Tallinn’s LGBTQ+ community and allies. The vibe is casual, unpretentious, and welcoming, making it a must-visit for both locals and tourists. Located slightly off the beaten path, it’s easy to miss, but once inside, you'll find two bars, a spacious dance floor, and cozy seating areas. Perfect for a chill evening or to dance the night away!
X-Baar truly comes alive on weekends, with local and international DJs spinning late into the night. Expect a lively crowd after 10 PM, and don’t miss their themed nights and drag performances. If you’re looking for a more relaxed vibe, midweek visits offer a quieter, more intimate atmosphere.
The bar proudly flies the rainbow flag year-round, making it a beacon of inclusivity in Tallinn. Plus, there’s no cover charge, so it’s easy to pop in for a drink and soak in the local gay scene. Whether you’re here to party or just relax with friends, X-Baar is the go-to spot for LGBTQ+ nightlife in Tallinn.
Saturday night in January place had few quests, seat broke underneath me and no reaction from the staff whatsoever, maybe they should check that their seating is safe to use for the quests.. cheap prices in the bar.
Where to start.... This venue has such a big potential, it's spacious and has a good AC. But the music 🙁 Half of the Saturday crows were 50+ and the venue plays sad slow ballads. We were worried that if some older clients died, nobody would notice! Zero energy. 10 seconds gap between songs! Need to care more about the music! Please 🙏🏻
Overpriced cocktail (11.5 euros for an aperol spritz) that was not very well made. Inside was dark and outside patio not well put together, wouldn’t come back.
It’s a really nice place. Tricky to find.Just take the stairs up on the left side of the building and than u see a small door with x at on it. Beer for a good price. Free peanuts, nice people. Relaxed! Before 11pm on Saturday free entrance.
Nice bar, went there on a Wednesday night and the owner was there, her son was the bartender, everybody very friendly and made an effort to communicate. They even made me drink I requested and they didnt know how to prepare. They accept cards.
I had the privilege of attending their 24th anniversary. To set your expectations:1. There won’t be a lot of people (but the people who are there are very nice).2. Make conversation don’t wait to be approached.I went on one of their busiest nights and had a great time. But I made an effort to make it happen.Definitely visit and grab a drink - people are friendly.
