Fountainhead Pub

I first visited The Fountainhead back in 2002 and recently returned for the first time in years. I’m happy to say it hasn’t lost what made it special. The staff are as friendly and welcoming as ever, the atmosphere is warm and lively, and the food is excellent with plenty of great options. It’s rare to revisit a place after so long and find it’s still every bit as good as you remembered. For me, The Fountainhead remains the best pub in Vancouver, and I’ll be sure not to leave it so long before my next visit.

I have been going to The Fountainhead for 14 years. When I lived outside of Vancouver it became a good and safe place for me, as well as when I lived in Vancouver and equally as much now that I am living in SE Asia and visiting Vancouver a couple of times a year. It is predictable and I value that. During the day, Luke and Riley remember what I drink even though it may have been a few months since they have seen me. Nathan remembers me each time and where I now live. Wade always has time to say hello and to chat with me. Kyla is great. I sincerely appreciate FH and the wonderful food, fries and wine and beer. I am always glad that it is there when I visit the city again.

The food has not been great or good for a long time. Fish and chips were terrible July 30,2026. Fish tasted had been refried, hard and the fries did not taste fresh. The coleslaw watery and tasteless. We’ve been customers since the Fountainhead opened. The service has always been great and the food used to be wonderful. Sadly, our last five visits have been disappointing with the food.

Loved the food and ambiance! We went there for saturday lunch and got the taco salad and beef dip. Highly recommend the beef dip, one of the best I ever had. Meat was tender and juicy, the dip had a nice depth of flavor and the kaiser bun was fluffy. Our waiter Luke was very nice and attentive. We will be back!
