Nestled in the heart of Brussels' historic center, Macho Sauna stands as Belgium's largest gay sauna, offering over 1,500 square meters of space across six levels. Visitors can unwind in the Finnish sauna, steam room, or take a dip in the expansive jacuzzi. For those seeking more active pursuits, a gym equipped with Technogym devices is available. The venue also features a labyrinth, dark rooms, and private cabins, catering to a variety of preferences. A rooftop terrace provides a space to relax outdoors, while the bar offers a selection of beverages and light snacks. Macho Sauna operates daily from 12:00 PM to midnight, with continuous service from Friday noon until Sunday midnight. The clientele is diverse, attracting gay and bisexual men of various ages. While some patrons have praised the cleanliness and friendly staff, others have noted concerns regarding service and pricing. Located at Rue du Marché au Charbon 106, Macho Sauna remains a notable spot within Brussels' gay scene.
A very tidy, clean, and sufficiently large sauna. Every time I’ve been there, there were really many attractive people. The downside is the high price.
I would put this up as top 3 best sauna in the world. Went there on a Friday night - PACKED. All types of guys from porn star hot to your grandfather's best friend. Music was excellent. Bar was great. Of course there were some drugged out people but it was still safe. Staff were friendly but firm - if you take that as rude well I don't know what to tell you. Brussels is wonderful.
I have been here a couple times months apart. As a non-French speaking Asian American, I didn’t experience any rudeness from the staff. They were quite friendly from my couple encounters. The sauna is large and kept clean. There is a dry sauna, steam room, and a large jacuzzi. There are several floors of mazes with rooms. The top floor has a gym and a sun deck. There are lot of young and attractive men compared to many other saunas. The only thing I didn’t like was the pathways in the steam room are a bit too narrow and often blocked. Otherwise, it’s a great sauna, and I would return if I were ever in Brussels again.
If I could give zero stars, I would. And in fact, I have only shared negative reviews of gay saunas on two occasions: once for Sauna Casanova in Madrid where there was a large scale police raid because of high drug use and now for Macho Sauna in Brussels. On two separate occasions, we tried to enter the sauna only to be told that it was closing in 30 minutes despite the fact that all of their social media and website info maintained a midnight closure. The staff either don’t want to work there and thus choose to shut down the sauna whenever they’re ready or they feel no need to update their public profiles.I wish I had something positive to say — but I don’t. There are a number of pleasant and reliable bars in the area (with reliable information) that would likely benefit more from your support.
I was greeted at the reception when I entered by a guy with long hair and shirtless guy... very rude. I told him I didn't speak French, only English. And he corrected me with "English please" But isn't it rude for him to wait for customers shirtless? He has nothing to show with his body anyway.
This weekend I was at the sauna again – I am a regular customer, I go there very often. But I am now very disappointed. The sauna clearly took advantage of the “After La Demence” weekend to increase the entrance price from 30€ to 35€. And even the water that we normally get for free suddenly had to be paid for.I honestly don’t understand why this was done and why there must be so much “profiting” like this.Another comment: in the past the sauna also offered food – even if it wasn’t anything special, it was still important for those ofus who stay a few hours. Now there is no food offered anymore AND it is forbidden to bring any food from outside. I find this a terrible rule and honestly completely illogical.I am very disappointed – and I really think this will have a negative impact on the sauna in the future.
Disappointing experience. Staff scoffed at me upon entry, despite paying with a premium card. Requested size 46 sandals, was told they’re “universal”—received size 39s that cut my feet. Bartender was new and asked for help making a Moscow mule; his colleague was rude, and when I complimented the drink, I was mocked. My friend slipped due to undersized sandals—no staff helped, and there were no safety railings near the bar. Crowd felt pretentious. Forced to drink water between low-ABV beers, which left me bloated. When I voiced concerns, staff responded condescendingly. Brussels deserves a more inclusive, respectful venue. At least they pour a proper 250ml beer. GAYS BEWARE.
🏳️🌈I'd rate it as okay, due to its cleanliness. There were also a lot of people, as I was told at reception, up to 80 people, which is more than anywhere else I've been. It's very well-appointed, and there are a lot of middle-aged guys. You probably need to go on Saturdays and Sundays; it's very crowded all night.Everything happens there, and you can experience any fantasy.‼️What I didn't like was the price: €30, which is quite expensive for a non-European, and also that they have a discount card that says 30-year-olds get a discount of up to €25, but it's only valid until age 29 😒
Im sure the owner had good intentions with this venue but in doing so has got it wrong.I’ve been to many saunas around the world and I think this is the cleanest sauna I have ever been to, and the brightest…. Whilst that might sound right, it terms of a sauna it kind of isn’t right… we kinda like it to be dark and dinghy and a bit seedy.. but there is nothing left to the imagination here. There is absolutely no anonymity at this venue. The glory holes are no fun because it’s very clear who is on the other side… and probably a good reason why no one uses them, the floor layout is the same on both the upper levels. The venue is very sterile. Too clean and too much light… or maybe just too much light that we can see how clean it is.Yes it’s a sauna but it’s not a very fun sauna.
I am from Germany. Usually there I visit the aquarium sauna in Karlsruhe close to the french boarder which is my favorite one. After reading the reviews from the macho sauna I was first a bit skeptical. But ... without any reason! Yesterday (tuesday) I arrived late with only 2 hours time left. Only few people were there. But I had a great time. The 2 handsome guys behind the bar were very welcoming and entertaining. And even though it wasn't as full as I am used to from my favourite one, I met some sexy guys from some other European countries. The entrance was expensive, but water to drink was included. The sauna was clean with a nice and big jacuzzi with warm water. The steam room was great and also the rest was good. All in all I would go there again.

Have been at the sauna during the week, as well as during the weekend. One of the best saunas I visited (and I am familiar with quite a lot 😊), fantastic facilities, unique atmosphere, professional and kind staff, super clean, and very hot guys! A must-visit in Brussels!
Hello… first time for me at Macho Sauna… I really enjoyed the time I spent there. I’m in Brussels just for a few days, coming from Paris. One very important thing to say… you really have to keep Diego, the young barman who also handles the payment. Smiling, kind, polite… he really makes sure we feel good and welcome. He’s simply amazing. Thank you, I’ll come back for sure!! ❤️❤️👌👌
I really enjoyed the place, warm welcome, and the staff was super friendly. There were people of all ages, from middle-aged to older, and honestly, I really appreciated it. I was just passing through and wanted to try a sauna in Brussels. Diego, at the bar, made me feel especially welcome, and I had a great time. I highly recommend this place!
Went to Macho Sauna in Brussels and honestly had a really good time. The place is super clean (like, actually spotless), and the staff were all really nice. Diego at the bar was super chill and welcoming, loved his energy. There was a cool mix of people around 8PM, all kinds of backgrounds and ages, mostly 20s to 40s. The jacuzzi’s big, saunas are great, and the bar’s got everything you need, even food 🙂 Chill vibe, nice people, def coming back.
Now that there is a response from the owner, public opinion, feel free to make your judgment regarding this venue and their approach to feedback, as their reply is a perfect example of how they manage the business. 🤷🏻♂️The one-star review is not because it’s a bad place. The site is fine, and you will have fun playing with other men in a nice setting. The one star goes because this facility has made a basic human right a price (providing water consumption free). They charge 2.50 € per glass of water, and they even have turned tap water in the restrooms “hot only” to force customers to purchase water. This is a serious matter because people in a sauna are proclive to dehydration and the denial of access to tap water is a violation to the Water Framework Directive” (WFD), Directive 2000/60/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council establishing a framework for Community action in the field of water policy.
the place is not well designed , the lockers are there not for functionality ,but for you to put everything inside .you can be assaulted by people on a high , staff play the game " we are not available , and just let it go " if you complaint and try to find a staff member on the bar , they will ignore the shouting and screaming and hide in the back room .also , the photo attached is something that comes out of the human body and should be going into the sewage system , but the place is clean and you can find it in the locker room.* ps. why do you keep removing negative reviews where it is a real reflection of your establishment?
Not fit for purpose, the flooring is always wet , the hygiene station is almost a punishment with little light. The sauna has people sitting on the wood bare , sweating on the wood and with slippers! The temperature is not warm in the steam room , sauna or the upper floors. Showers are almost always cold. The music is 2000 club , and it does not help.Slippers at 4 euros , entrance at 34 euros , off coarse no one will buy slippers!Hygiene kit at 18 euros ! And you are suppose to get clean in 2x2 foot unlit, cold water area where you cannot even disinfectant!Tvs were not showing anything, now Ariana grande with a different music in the background. What a waste or time, effort! Eww and yuck !
This sauna was very clean and good. I visited Friday evening and I had lots of fun with handsome guys. Some of them told me that Sundays are the busiest. There are some problems with the building but it's not a big deal. The entrance price is relatively high.

Been this weekend. 01.12.2024 for the very first time there and I'm completely amazed. Very clean and beautiful atmosphere. BTW alot of good looking guys:) .only thing that wasn't good. Was that there are no possibility to buy Zigarettes .I spend alot money this weekends on sauna .But on my request just to jump outside for 5 min to buy me a Zigarette wasn't allowed..I had to pay the entry again ?.That's why I decide to stay outsider after this. So sad.Second thing. The security guy needs to calm down.If im smoking all alone by myself at this mini outside area next to the wet sauna and I wanna Weare my pullover while that because ist -10° degrees outside. Why this security dude came along with this unrealistic rules i can't sit outside to smoke a cigarette with my pullover on ??Come guys , get this dude an schooling seminar
I visited Macho Sauna in Brussels yesterday, and overall, it was a great experience. The crowd around 8 PM was a mix of about 15 guys in their 20s to 40s, including white, Middle Eastern, and a couple of Asian individuals. The vibe was relaxed and friendly, with a few older men around who were respectful and admiring. Despite some recent reviews mentioning rude staff, I didn’t experience that—everyone, from the front desk to the cleaning crew, was friendly and welcoming. The facilities were immaculately clean, and I was impressed by the cleaning staff actively working to perfect the glass doors inside the sauna, which really highlighted their attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a spotless environment.Macho Sauna is more of a social scene than a purely therapeutic space, but if you're looking to meet new people in a clean, comfortable environment, it’s a solid choice. The atmosphere was relaxed, with well-maintained steam rooms, private areas, and a great overall vibe. If you're looking for a place in Brussels with excellent cleanliness, a diverse crowd, and friendly staff, Macho Sauna is definitely worth a visit.
This place is awful. They have no idea about ambiance!!! Music is old crap dance music awfully loud when there’s 5 people in the place. People at the bar and the door rude!you cannot clean your ass because the water is so strong it destroys your asshole.
I find it really disappointing that you suddenly charge 35€ for the entrance, only because there is La Démence weekend in the city. Hence I've spent more than 4 hrs in almost empty venue. It's more busy in a regular weekend. I find raising the entry fee by 6€ a robbery 😬
In 12 years of coming I never had a complaint that I felt was important enough to share it. But this time it felt unnecessarily petty that you have replaced all water taps in the facility for warm water to force customers to buy tap water for €2.50. This is not my idea of how to make business, and I will not be spending on drinks at all anymore. You can't do this.
29 euros for entrance and no filtered free water. The most expensive sauna in Europe even in Paris with big swimming pool and big lounges to rest is only 20 euros. One small glass of water is one euro, one bottle is about 6 euros. No swimming pool. The floors are wet and caused your soles itchy. In Amsterdam 24 euros with free drinking water fountain and also one drink of any choice is included in the price.
