Bambi Filmstudio

This cinema Theater is centrally located in Düsseldorf. The screen is not big but once the movie starts you won’t notice it. They show movies often in original language. The staff is friendly and there are 2 different choices of popcorns! They have both sweet and salty flavours. There are a small lounge inside the cinema and sitting area in the corridors. All in all we had a very nice experience.

There are cinemas that show films. And there are places that have a point of view about what cinema is for. Bambi Filmstudio is the second kind. The hall is tiny — and that’s not a compromise, that’s the whole idea. You’re not watching a film in a multiplex that happens to be showing something interesting. You’re in a room where the programme has been chosen by someone who cares about what goes on the screen. Italian film weeks. Retrospectives. Things that won’t be anywhere else in Düsseldorf that month. I’ve been coming here for years. The repertoire changes but the logic stays the same: this is not mass cinema. This is cinema for people who want to be surprised by what they’re watching rather than confirmed in what they already know. If you’re in Düsseldorf and want to see something that isn’t currently on every screen in every city in Germany — this is where you go.

We wanted to watch a movie in English 1. The popcorn was not tasty, especially salted one (pre-packaged kind). It even made my fiancée feel sick afterward. 2. They made glühwein by literally boiling wine in a kettle. 3. The screen was small and the auditorium felt a bit dirty. 4. ads ran for 24–25 minutes, which is about 20% of the movie’s runtime sounds unthinkable

I love this vintage cinema! Dedicated staff, selected films, super fresh popcorn, fair prices and even fresh flowers on the tables! Perfect for a classy movie night! N

Nice small cinema but the trailers before the movie are always more than half an hour long. If I'm paying for the movie it should begin when announced.
