About Cheer Up Charlies
Cheer Up Charlies is one of Austin’s most distinctive queer spaces: part neighbourhood bar, part outdoor music venue and always a little unpredictable. The colourful Red River spot pairs a big shaded patio with live bands, DJs, drag, queer markets, film nights and community events. Drinks lean playful, including fresh-juice cocktails and kombucha alongside local beer and wine. It is relaxed enough for an afternoon catch-up but can become a packed, sweaty dance party once the evening programme gets going.
