Ensen Onsen

As a foreigner, I had a great experience at Ensen Onsen! I booked therapist Kami for a 2 hr aroma massage on Monday night, Sept 7 and his skills were exceptional. I returned the next day and booked therapist Ray for another 2 hr, his massage was absolutely mind-blowing! The steam room and onsen were clean, well maintained and pleasantly quiet during the weekday daytime. There’s also a discount for the onsen before 7pm. Good shower water pressure, a well maintained dark maze and even mouthwash provided in the washroom. Overall, a clean, relaxing and safe experience. Definitely enjoyed my visits!

This was my second time visiting Thailand, and this time I had a massage with a therapist named Leon.😍 Leon was very politee and friendly. He wasn’t very fluent in Eng, but he really tried his best to communicate with me. I really appreciated his effort hahaaaa lol Unfortunately I had to rush back to my country that day😭😭 I hope to see you again someday, Leon and Ensen! Review is for the food and facilities: The locker room felt hectic. The space is a little tight when even two people need to access lockers in a single section, but this is probably more due to it being Songkran (and therefore busier than normal). The lighting in the onsen / spa area is a darker, warmer color than depicted in the current photos. Maybe a step or two lighter than what you’d see at Orange Theory fitness. As a result, the space was more relaxing than expected. It would have been nice to have the door between the steam room and showers operational; it would reduce foot traffic and keep the onsen area more tranquil. We ordered two buta (pork) don bowls. Pretty tasty! There was also free ice cream and sticky rice available. As mentioned on other reviews, there was only one massage chair. But it’s the kind that envelopes you completely and makes you feel safe and loved.

I came on a weekday and they were having an event from 8-9pm. Basically the place was empty until 7:30-8pm when suddenly everyone got there and it got quite busy but then most people left by 9pm. There were maybe thirty people, all locals, on the younger side, average to below average fitness. The facilities are nice and spacious and the layout of the steam room and upstairs area is actually better than most other onsens, I have no idea why other reviews are complaining about this. However, the price has gone up unfortunately.

The place is not bad (also not great, just regular) but the attitude of the people who were working there was just horrible. The guys at the reception were visibly making fun of me and then the workers inside gave me sensation of being an intruder more than a guest.
