About The Flying Handbag
The Flying Handbag is one of the defining venues of Blackpool’s LGBTQ+ scene and has been part of the town’s queer nightlife since 1994. Its purpose-built home on Queen Street is unapologetically camp: daily entertainment, drag performers, karaoke, DJs, food and a crowd that mixes holidaymakers with regulars.\n\nIt is unusually easy to use at almost any point in the day because it opens from noon and stays late, reaching 4am on Fridays and Saturdays. For a first night in gay Blackpool, this is one of the obvious anchor venues.
