GAP in Bonn

A truly disappointing experience. From the outside, the place looks friendly and cosmopolitan. However, since I'm rather shy, I didn't want to just barge in, so I cautiously peeked through the window first – the place almost looks like a restaurant, so that seemed fine. But as soon as some people noticed me, the blind was immediately pulled down, and I was met with unfriendly stares. Unfortunately, there was no trace of genuine friendliness or a welcoming atmosphere. This was particularly disappointing for me, as a tourist in my early 30s and myself gay, I had actually expected to be welcome in such a place. I had hoped for much more.

GAP is a great place for all young people who are part of the LGBTQ+ community. Whether you simply want to meet new people, hang out with friends, or need help and someone to talk to, GAP is the right place. Visiting GAP feels like being part of a big family. You're always welcome and accepted for who you are. No one is excluded, and new visitors are welcomed immediately. I highly recommend visiting GAP yourself 😊 If you don't feel comfortable going alone, you can use the pick-up service. Just contact the team, for example, by email.

The people here are always open-hearted and you can talk openly with the operators or caregivers about any concerns; they are bound by confidentiality like doctors, should this correspond to the wishes of the individual.

I was there for the first time a few months ago and I really liked it. Everyone was nice, and you could talk to the staff about any problems. I think it's great that there's a GAP Bonn near me.
