GC Bar

My wife and I walked in, saw that the bar was empty, and thought the place looked fun. We met a couple of fun people and had a wonderful time. Only realized it later while reviewing the place.😅😅

No review stars but I hunted this bar out and finally found it. Opened the door and was greeted by cigarette smoke even though it was quiet on a Wednesday. I shook my head at the barman, waved my hand in front of my face and politely walked out 😩 I won't be going back after that 5 seconds I was in there as I don't want to tarnish my clothes and have to wash them straight away. Not agood start to my Hanoi holiday.

It’s a great place! The staff is great, price are cheap, and the place looks amazing, loved the vibe! Also, smoking inside is a big plus! Note to other commenters, mane of a new generation do love to smoke 💕

Vibes is not bad. On a Friday night, crowd starts to coming in around 9.30pm, mainly international visitors. However dj starts to blast very loud music at 10.30pm, seems the owner can't decide to offer a bar vibes for socializing or a club for dancing, 10.30 seems too early for loud music. They offer a wide range of classic cocktails, if they have some special cocktail menu, it might spices up things a bit, where I would go further to order a second or third drinks.

We went twice to Bar GC (seems to be the only gay bar in Hanoi), once on Friday night and once on Sunday night. Cocktails are around 120k - 150k each (a little bit pricey for Vietnam, but 5-6 USD for a decent cocktail isn’t bad at all). On Friday, it’s was quite busy. Service was fast and friendly, and the cocktails tasted great. Many reviews mentioned unpleasant staff - I didn’t find this at all. The bar staff were chatty and joking with the customers. A mix of foreigners and locals, with plenty of handsome, friendly guys! Atmosphere was lively - not too much room to dance, but you could make space. On Sunday it was much quieter, but still a nice atmosphere - more of a speak easy, sit and chat kind of vibe (I appreciated that they adjusted the music accordingly). A nice gay bar by any standards!
