About Icon Astoria

Icon Astoria is an LGBTQ+ bar and nightclub on 33rd Street in Astoria, Queens. Combining the social atmosphere of a neighbourhood gay bar with the energy of a late-night club, it offers entertainment throughout the week and remains open into the early morning. Drag is central to Icon’s identity. The venue regularly features resident New York performers presenting lip-syncs, live singing, comedy and high-energy stage shows. Its programme also includes karaoke and dance parties, with events taking place across the week rather than being limited to Friday and Saturday nights. The experience can vary depending on when you visit. Earlier hours may be better suited to drinks and conversation, while performances and later weekend periods typically create a busier, louder and more energetic club atmosphere. Icon is particularly useful for LGBTQ+ visitors staying in Queens who want drag and nightlife without travelling into Manhattan or Brooklyn. Check Icon’s Instagram before visiting for the latest performers, event times and any special programming, as the entertainment schedule can change from one night to another.

The Saturday night drag show at Icon was a highlight of our trip to Astoria! This bar has a friendly, neighborhood feel and was immediately welcoming. The Saturday evening Jackbox games was super fun. Highly recommend!

Marcelo is the best bartender. He has been here for years and I will always come back to see him. He is so kind and so charismatic. Yes maybe there is a lil crush but it’s only because he is so amazing, professional and always smiles. I love ICON!

Absolutely love ICON. Marcelo and Maggie are two of the absolute rockstars who make this place feel so welcoming every single visit. They remember faces, bring such good energy, and really set the tone for an awesome experience. Places like this only work because of people like them — truly the heart of the place.

It was my first time there, and I could not stand how dirty the restroom was. Why some managers don't pay attention to the importance of having a clean and neat restroom/toilets.
