turned up here on 10th Jann2026 so with post New Years lull, expected it to be quiet. friendly efficient barman. reasonable priced drinks (7 euro). upstairs bar was nice but a bit flat due to few people. downstairs was fun - but people seemed a bit shy and needed someone to get them out more their shells. haha. worth popping in esp as no entry charge

It makes me sad to write this, but this place has lost all its charm for me because of a very rude bartender (a bearded guy who isn't very old). I used to go to this bar almost every time I was in Paris and had some wonderful times there. But on three occasions, this bartender spoke to me very rudely for no reason (I am always polite). As someone who goes out a lot in le Marais, I've heard many people talking about this for a while now. The last time I went there and he was once again very unpleasant, I took the liberty of telling him that he had the right to be polite, and he literally threw me out. I've never felt so uncomfortable going to a bar, which is supposed to be a place where you can relax and have a good time. From what I understand, the problem with this bartender is not new (I was lucky not to have encountered him before—the other bartenders, who were older, were perfectly normal). I won't go back there as long as he's there. I don't want to give my money to a place that doesn't respect its customers.
