May Wong’s Café is permanently closed. The former Neil Road cocktail bar was named for pioneering Chinese-American screen star Anna May Wong and formed part of the same LGBTQ+ nightlife cluster as Tantric and Backstage. Its smaller, lounge-like setting and cinematic theme made it a distinctive stop in Singapore’s historic queer bar district. So crowded for a cafe. I like their American Espresso and my partner loves their Frappe. I hope that they could renovate their place, make it spacious to accommodate lots of customers especially in the afternoon and during rainy days.

It’s been many years that I come to this bar. It’s a place to call home for all our LGBTQ individuals and allies. Love the service rendered by the bar crew!! Two thumbs up for them!!! Psst! Do visit here whenever you are in Singapore!!
