About Oberon

Oberon is a queer cocktail bar and community space in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Created as an inclusive gathering place for the wider LGBTQ+ community, it combines the comfort of a neighbourhood bar with the energy of a late-night dance venue. The interior offers space for relaxed drinks and conversation earlier in the evening, while DJs, drag performers and special events bring a livelier atmosphere later at night and at weekends. The drinks menu includes original cocktails alongside familiar classics, and the kitchen serves a selection of shareable food. Oberon places a strong emphasis on community, self-expression and connection. Its programme features rotating DJs, drag shows and themed events designed to welcome different parts of New York’s queer community. The crowd is generally mixed and inclusive, attracting local residents as well as LGBTQ+ visitors exploring Williamsburg nightlife. The venue works well for casual after-work drinks, meeting friends, cocktails before a night out or staying later for music and dancing. Check Oberon’s website or Instagram before visiting, as entertainment, event times and any admission charges can vary by night.

I rented out this venue for my engagement party, and it was truly, perfect! The atmosphere’s they created inside is cozy, elevated, and mature. It was a great space to host my party of 80 comfortably! The service was impeccable. From when we started planning, to the night of, we had plenty of support during the entire process. In addition, the bartenders and DJ really made the night a success. I’m so happy we went with this venue, it was definitely a great investment!

This bar had so much promise It’s beautifully designed and spacious When I first came last year when it opened they had friendly staff. I went in yesterday and the staff basically rolled their eyes when they saw us walk in It’s never nice to feel like an inconvenience, especially in a bar. I’d recommend the Exley down the road for a cheerier welcome

Oberon might have ruined every other cocktail bar for me. The space somehow feels impossibly intimate and cinematic at the same time, like stepping into the kind of place people spend years trying to find and then refuse to tell their friends about. Every detail feels considered without ever feeling precious. The drinks are absurdly good, the service strikes that rare balance of knowledgeable and genuinely warm, and the entire room hums with the exact energy Williamsburg wishes it could bottle. You know when a place is so good it makes you want to cancel your next stop and just stay for one more round? That’s Oberon. First visit. Immediately understood the hype. 11/10. Or, if you want something even more unhinged: I entered Oberon as a customer and left as a disciple. The cocktails arrived carrying more emotional depth than several people I’ve dated. The lighting made everyone look like they had just stepped out of an indie film. The staff possessed the confidence of master craftsmen and the kindness of people who know they’re about to change your evening. Williamsburg has spent twenty years trying to convince me it’s cool. Oberon did it in fifteen minutes. If this place has no fans, I am dead. If this place has one fan, it’s me. If this place has a cult, I am already paying dues.

Great space with a cool atmosphere and vibe. Good happy hour deals and enjoyed the blood orange margarita. Would’ve loved to stay but we had to leave because it was SO LOUD - couldn’t have a proper conversation. And the music wasn’t great either. Bartenders also took a while to make drinks even if there wasn’t a line.

Chill vibes/sexy. Drag Sunday at 8. They have it Weds. as well. Good cocktails. Cool nice bartender Gideon. Dog friendly. Good place to pre-game HMD etc. Or meet your future ex-husband.
