About OMG Plymouth

OMG Plymouth brings a full-scale gay club night to the Barbican, with commercial pop, party anthems, drag appearances and the kind of packed dancefloor that keeps going until early morning. It is the strongest choice in Plymouth when you want a club rather than a quiet drink. The crowd is LGBTQ+ at its core but generally mixed and welcoming. Friday and Saturday are the main nights, so check the current programme before travelling if there is a particular DJ, drag act or themed party you want to catch.

What to expect

A high-energy, late-night LGBTQ+ club with pop music, drinks deals, DJs and occasional drag performances.

What a shame. If this is what the “best”’of gay culture in Plymouth is. It’s died. The single most dirty, falling apart, smelly, poorly designed and overpriced bar I’ve been on at the Barbican. Bar service was met to be greeted by someone dressed as the saw bicycle character, but with less drive. Everything is dirty and generally in poor condition. I mean everything! The music wasn’t “gay” it was just a thumping beat to resemble a migraine, truly atrocious. Toilets have mould, broken locks, human excrement and puke in all cubicles and urinals, urine everywhere but where should be. No toilet roll. You’d be less likely to catch something finding the nearest commercial bin and using that as a facility. The club was obviously too dark to hide its terrible condition. This place should be utterly ashamed of itself thinking the price it charges for the level of utter terribleness in Plymouth on the barbican no less. Never ever returning.

Whose idea was this? “OMG in the mix” “OMG in the mix”, “OMG in the mix”, “OMG home of the gays”, **wait with two dozen people whilst one single barman tries mega hard to serve everyone by himself on a Saturday on halloween** “OMG in the mix”, “OMG in the mix” “OMG home of the gays” ad infinitum constantly interrupting the music, stupid horns and fake vinyl sounds and jingles all the way through the music. No one on the planet ever wants this in any club anywhere. Not do they want drinks for a tenner each with an extra long wait. Bar and door staff work hard. But whoever makes business decisions here needs to fired. Look, the formula is simple, people want music, fast service, good drinks and a safe place. That’s it. It’s beyond simple. Though apparently not for whoever runs this place…

I really liked the cabaret show! Very fiery and friendly bar. You can have some fun here. They often hold promotions, if you register and create a profile on 909gay,com they will present you with a free cocktail and private room for 2 hours, just show the bartender a profile

This bars only failing is the premises itself. It’s scruffy and certainly not clean! Sadly I left the bar after attempting to use the toilet. I asked someone in the bar where the toilets were and he pointed in what direction they were. They were in the opposite direction when I went back to him he said you would be better off in the street. He was not wrong. The toilets were by far the worst I had encountered. They were quite frankly disgusting so sadly I cut my night short in favour of a cleaner premises. It’s unfortunate though as all the staff were lovely all the people in there were equally friendly but it’s just hard to overcome the state of the pub itself.
