If you’re looking for a bar with great energy, great people, and consistently great service, Pegasus is it! Simon’s trivia nights on Thursday are consistently smart, funny and well-paced. Clearly crafted by someone who actually cares about the experience. It’s the kind of trivia that keeps you coming back week after week not just because it’s challenging, but because it’s genuinely fun and welcoming. The service is always top-tier. Drinks come quickly, the vibe is relaxed, and the staff clearly take pride in what they do. The pool tables are another bonus - they're affordable, well-maintained, and actually playable (which is rarer than it should be).

Pegasus is fun and comfortable - and the "Are You Smarter Than A Scottish Guy" trivia on Thursdays is easily the best trivia in the city. Bartenders are friendly and fun. Just overall a good place to start or end a night, or spend a whole evening socializing. This was the absolute first gay bar I ever visited and it could not have been a better introduction to the community. I will always come back because it's like coming home for me now.

I visited the bar around 3:00 p.m. to watch the FIFA World Cup Final with some friends. The bar was extremely busy and hot, and it appeared there was only one bartender working. While, I understand that he was under a lot of pressure, the experience I had made me feel unwelcome. When I ordered, I asked whether the Diet Coke/Coke Zero came from the fountain or cans. After I said I’d take a Diet Coke, the bartender replied, “Do you have ID on you?” in a very curt manner. He looks me in the eye with a deadpan stare and I show him my ID for the coke. Then, I asked for no ice. As he started pouring from the fountain, it was dispensing very slowly, and he rolled his eyes and said, “this is going to take forever.” He then walked to the fridge and grabbed a can of Coke Zero instead. I was surprised because I hadn’t been given the option of a canned drink from the start, even though I generally would have preferred that. I also asked for an ice water. He responded, “Do you want ice in that too?” The comment itself wasn’t the issue, but it was the demeaning/sarcastic tone that came across as unnecessarily rude. I explained that I only requested no ice in my Coke because I didn’t want it diluted. I completely understand that working during a major sporting event is stressful and that the bar may have been understaffed. My concern isn’t that service was slow… it’s that the service felt unfriendly throughout. Whether it was due to the workload or something else, the overall experience left me feeling unwelcome. I also had a quick observation/comment about the TVs. On Sunday, despite the FIFA World Cup Final being the reason most people were there, the match was initially shown only on the large projector screen(which was fairly dim). The other TVs at the front were displaying menus instead. It wasn’t until a customer asked whether the other TVs could be switched over that the game was put on them. I had also visited on Saturday, and noticed the staff that day had done a much better job of making sure all of the front TVs were showing the game. It made for a much better viewing experience and seemed more in line with what most customers had come to watch. This is generally a great community space and I hope the customer service during busy events improves.

Excellent service and good atmosphere. Lately the drink prices are astronomical here. $11.00 plus tip for a bottle of Stella. This is Robbery and pure greed. RIDICULOUS! It’s a shame. This bar is a neighbourhood fixture but won’t be for long if the drink prices remain this high. The rest rooms are also starting to look a little tired. They’ve lasted for 30 years so it’s time for a refresh.

I’ve come here a few times on my own for a drink, and the experience really seems to depend on who’s behind the bar. There are a couple of staff members who are consistently friendly, nothing over the top, just small things like asking how your day’s been or a bit of light conversation, which makes a big difference and feels welcoming. However, with other staff, the service can feel quite cold. I’m not expecting long conversations, especially when it’s busy, but the difference stands out when you see them being warm and chatty with other guests, while interactions with me feel very minimal and almost robotic. It’s not a major issue, but it does affect the overall atmosphere and whether you feel comfortable staying for another drink. For comparison, I went to the Eagle afterwards and the contrast in friendliness was noticeable, staff there made me feel genuinely welcome.
