Petra’s Tip Top Bar

First time in this place, thank you for my friend. It was like going home. Bartenders were so nice, and the atmosphere was incredible. It is not a big place but only what needs other clients and be welcome.

The beer was good, and it was reasonably priced. Not that many varieties though but this was expected. Service was slow, but no fault of the servers, place was packed by time I showed up at 10pm. Atmosphere was good, unique for a gay bar, very cozy (if u want a seat u better come during the day, those are very few compared to the robust number of customers). Would surely go back, maybe earlier than 10pm on a Friday night.

I was there with only two other patrons. The bar tender ignored me and spent his time talking with the other couple that was there. He didn't bother to engage me. As a gay man in another country, I think this is very important. As gay men we .go to other gay bars to feel that we belong. Not acknowledging us does not help. It's just the way I feel. Don't recommend this bar or will never come here again. To their defense, they don't cater to an international crowd, just to locals. When a local couple came in, the bar tender was all over them.

Amazing service, really friendly staff. Fun music and handsome men. Overall the place to go for some drinks at the end of the night if you are not looking for a wild clubbing scene.

1. Pros: laid back scene, frequented by locals, good mix of people (young, old) 2. Cons: music is mainly pop/schlager, some tourists don't seem to like that but I think the music is great to hear a bit of german pop! 3. Interesting Fact: Petra is one of the most famous drag queen performers in Zurich! 4. Specific Recommendation: best day to try this place is any single day of the week!
