PLUTO Sauna Essen

The best sauna I have ever visited. I loved it so much that I visited twice in the four days I’ve stayed in Germany. A special mention to the staff, especially Moe, for being absolutely wonderful. Thank you so much!

I visited Pluto Sauna last Sunday with a friend, and unfortunately, our experience was quite uncomfortable. When we arrived, we were not informed of any specific rules or guidelines, nor were any rules properly explained to us while we were inside. My friend was warned twice by a staff member, and we found the way it was handled very inappropriate and indiscreet. The first time, he was approached publicly in front of other people, which was unnecessary and embarrassing. The second time, the approach was even more rude and unpleasant. At one point, I went to the bar to get a drink while my friend stayed downstairs. When I ordered my drink, I was questioned about where my friend was and why he had not been at the bar for more than two hours. I found the question quite strange, especially because I noticed that my friend seemed to be being monitored. We really did not understand the reason for this level of concern, considering that he had been drinking nothing but Coca Cola throughout our entire visit. The whole situation gave us the impression that there was not much privacy in the venue, which made me feel quite uncomfortable. On our way out, we also noticed that cameras appeared to be recording in the changing-room area. This made me particularly uncomfortable. If I had known about this beforehand, I would have made sure to use a towel while changing. After everything that happened with my friend, and because of the overall feeling of being watched and lacking privacy, we decided to leave. Unfortunately, we do not intend to return to Pluto Sauna. There are many other options in the area where we have had much better experiences and felt more comfortable and respected. I hope the management will reconsider how staff approach customers and, most importantly, make all rules and surveillance policies clearly known to guests from the moment they arrive.

Don’t come on a saturday morning at 6:00. They let you in, but cleaning is busy, saunas not in use, some lights are on and only a hand full of old men are sleeping in the darkrooms. After 5 min we left again, asking for a (partial) refund and we got the question ‘what do you expect!? at this time’. Well we didn’t come here to see sleeping old men and cleaning ladies. Very disappointing unfortunately.

very nice and clean and well maintained sauna. Only one negative thing the wirlpool was cold. Not sure if its a one thing. normally a wirlpool should be around 35c. Personel is very friendly.

Visited Pluto Essen for the first time yesterday — and what a pleasant surprise! As many other reviews already point out: nothing but positive experiences. The sauna is spacious, spotlessly clean, and has a well-maintained, welcoming feel. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. What I particularly appreciated was the diverse crowd — a good mix of ages and body types, which really makes everyone feel at ease. I’m more than happy to pay the entrance fee — I’ll definitely be coming back! To be honest, I don’t quite understand where some of the negative reviews come from. Keep up the great work, Pluto!
