About Tarlata Café

Tarlata Café is a mixed, queer-friendly café-bar at 30 Cours Julien. It combines daytime café service and light food with a terrace and interior courtyard, providing an alternative to the area’s late-night venues. The Pride organiser documents recurring Pride aperitifs here, and lists the café among its partners. Those events are dated rather than an all-year weekly promise, so consult current announcements for a specific gathering and confirm food service.

I rarely leave 1-star reviews, but this experience deserved one. There was no greeting when I arrived, no smile, no “thank you,” and no goodbye. Basic courtesy is the minimum you expect when walking into a café. The place itself has a nice atmosphere, which makes the lack of hospitality even more noticeable. The coffee was also very average, nothing memorable or worth coming back for. Had the service been warm and welcoming, I probably wouldn’t have minded as much. But when both the customer service and the product are disappointing, it’s hard to justify a better rating. The café wasn’t busy, so there didn’t seem to be any reason for the cold, indifferent attitude. A simple smile and a few polite words can completely change a customer’s experience. Please greet your customers, thank them, and make them feel welcome.

Really beautiful coffee shop, interior is spacious and if there is no room there is a beautiful seating area outside. People were friendly. Ordered a matcha latte and it was great. Really enjoyed this place!!

Great plane to grab a fresh coffee, daily made crossaint or baked food and hang out, read a book or people watch. In the afternoon, beer, wine, and sandwiches abound! On the edge of Coeurs' Julien, it's a great place to relax. Prices are fabulous and the owners even better!
