About The Rail
The Rail has roots stretching back to the 1930s and remains a recognizable part of Hillcrest’s LGBTQ+ nightlife. The handsome corner venue combines bar service with a dance floor and performance space, hosting DJs, drag, themed parties and community-focused events. The atmosphere depends heavily on the calendar, shifting from relaxed social nights to louder club events. Its Fifth Avenue location is slightly removed from the busiest University Avenue cluster but remains easily walkable from much of Hillcrest.
