About The Rosemont

The Rosemont is a gay bar and nightlife venue on Montrose Avenue in Brooklyn, close to Lorimer Street and the L, J and G trains. It combines the relaxed atmosphere of a neighbourhood cocktail lounge with the energy of a small late-night nightclub. Earlier in the evening, visitors can settle in for classic cocktails, affordable drinks and conversation with friends. As the night develops, the compact indoor space becomes livelier, with drag shows, DJ parties, live performances and dancing forming an important part of the venue’s programme. A spacious outdoor patio provides an alternative to the busier bar and dance-floor areas and stays open late. The Rosemont also offers reserved seating, bottle service and private-party bookings. The experience can vary significantly depending on the event. Some evenings feel casual and social, while popular performances and weekend parties can become crowded and energetic. Check the official website or social accounts before visiting for the latest event schedule and performer information.

What to expect

A friendly, unpretentious Brooklyn gay bar with inexpensive drinks, a compact indoor dance and performance area, and a large late-night patio. Expect a calmer atmosphere earlier and louder music, performances and dancing later.

Great neighborhood gay bar/club if you enjoy music with lyrics, ha. Crowd is younger and the neon sign above the bathroom “[do not feed drugs to the twinks]” indicates well the majority of this queer establishment’s patrons. It’s a lot of fun, and all genders are welcome. Bathroom lines can be long, similar to most smaller queer night clubs in the area. Greta bartenders, have not had a bad experience here other than feeling like I’m too old for this. If another patron calls me daddy I will lose it, smh. Friday nights are the best. Other events throughout the week, as well.

Drinks pretty good but bouncer would walk through bar with a flashing strobe that had luminosity of a military device and shine it directly at people's eyes. Could just have a tiny flashlight instead.

If I could rate this lower I would. Worst bar in the neighborhood. Rude staff, drinks pricey, and loud as hell for no damn reason.

I feel like this bar has changed so much in just a few months. It used to be internationally supportive of queers, but now I don’t know if the bar’s perspective, attitude, or business direction has shifted. The music has changed drastically — now it’s about 90% Latin. I do like Latin music, but I come to this bar because I wanted to hear more international pop hits like before. Things are different now. I think going to a bar is an investment — you spend money just to step out of your house. So if you’re planning to come here expecting to hear the kind of music and DJs this bar used to have, don’t. Go somewhere else, because this place has changed.
