U Bar is a small, straightforward gay neighborhood bar at 12th and Locust in the heart of Philadelphia’s Gayborhood. Large street-facing windows, a central bar and a friendly mix of regulars and visitors create an open, sociable atmosphere. This is more about conversation and uncomplicated drinks than elaborate entertainment. The compact room becomes much busier later in the evening, making it a useful meeting point before moving elsewhere—or a pleasantly unfussy destination in its own right.
