About Zag Club

Phuket's rainbow flag flies high, and its LGBTQ+ scene sizzles with vibrant nightlife. But if you crave something a little more, well, extra, Zag Bar Phuket is your Phuket party kryptonite. Buckle up, honey, because Zag's not your average cocktail bar – it's a full-on sensory extravaganza. Picture this: velvet curtains frame a jewel-toned interior dripping with opulent chandeliers and plush seating. Think Gatsby's mansion reimagined by a drag queen with a serious design degree. The air thrums with a curated mix of house and disco, punctuated by the infectious laughter of a diverse crowd. Zag's star isn't just the ambiance, though. The bartenders are mixologists with flair, crafting bespoke cocktails that are as Instagrammable as they are delicious. Think smoking concoctions served in vintage teacups, fiery infusions that'll tickle your taste buds, and classics with a Zag twist. But Zag isn't just about the drinks (although, let's be real, they're pretty darn good). This is where Phuket's LGBTQ+ scene comes alive after dark. Live music and drag performances ignite the stage, while themed nights like "Glitter Bomb Fridays" and "Masquerade Mondays" keep the party fresh and fabulous. Zag's not afraid to push boundaries, and that's what makes it so damn special. It's a place where you can dress to the nines or roll up in ripped denim, and everyone's welcome with open arms and a killer cocktail. It's a place to celebrate, to connect, to let loose and be your most authentic self.

I read a lot of reviews and was hesitant about going. But then I decided to go. My mom and I went yesterday; I really wanted to show her how open the people are here. And we were thrilled. The atmosphere was fantastic. If you've come to Phuket and haven't tried something like this, you haven't been to Thailand. The waiters, performers, and people were fantastic. We had a blast and really enjoyed the atmosphere. My mom was thrilled, too. We had cocktails. We woke up the next morning without even a headache. The drinks weren't overpriced, just right for a club. And admission was free.

What should have been a carefree night turned into a masterclass in how to alienate customers. While holding several banknotes in my hand, distracted for a moment by a friend speaking to me, a waiter decided that was his opportunity. He snatched a 1,000-baht note from my hand and rudely say, “Pay now.” When I calmly replied that the bill was 120 baht, not 1,020, he didn’t clarify—he shouted. Loudly. Aggressively. Repeating “No, you crazy, that’s 120,” while still trying to keep the money. Let me be very clear: I know exactly how much cash I left my hotel with. I wasn’t drunk, confused, or careless—I was targeted. This wasn’t a misunderstanding; it was an attempted hustle, wrapped in intimidation and humiliation, aimed squarely at a tourist. A bar should feel welcoming. This one feels predatory. If you’re visiting and expecting a safe, fun, or respectful environment, look elsewhere. I certainly will. This was my first visit—and absolutely my last. Never again. Save your money, your dignity, and your night—go literally anywhere else.

It was really fun, it's a mix of dance and cabaret, If you're new to drag or experienced it's actually an experience nonetheless. The outside shows started at 11pm, which was amazing in terms of managing passing Traffic and performing (don't even get me started on the heels, I would've fallen instantly). The interior shows are a lot more intimate and dance focused, I stood and danced because I was there with girls I had met at Bangla (really kind since I was a new clubber, met during the day and invited to go here at night, be careful with who you invite but generally Thai people are really kind) and we had tons of fun, lasted till closing time. I went there for several nights after, shows do change nightly and stay truly amazing despite the same setup, the boys were crazy hot NGL 😂, and I even lasted one night for 2 people and paying for my fav dancers drinks on 2000 Baht (just watch how much you spend, pace, and estimate the drinks you'll drink). In general, I highly recommend going here as it's the best gay nightclub I've been to during my Thailand trip!It was really fun, it's a mix of dance and cabaret, If you're new to drag or experienced it's actually an experience nonetheless.

Wow, What a great place! + Performances by the solos as well as the 'K-Pop' group were incredibly creative and fast, well rehearsed choreography - all free to watch! +Lots of variety in the shows which went on for over two hours with some short breaks +No cover +The staff were all friendly and quick to fill drink orders in english - The plus size performer did not want to be there and it was obvious just looking for tips from the audience while awkwardly standing on stage, but this was the exception to a great lineup I had low expectations from many other drag shows being repetitive and just unfunny relying on crude sex jokes for laughs, but Zag is about giving the crowds a show to remember. This rivaled many paid shows. It will not disappoint!

The performances were lovely, but the venue doesn't really let you dance and enjoy yourself. It’s either a formal performance or terrible music; there’s no middle ground. I’d advise the DJ to play actual songs instead of bad techno remixes. We went two days in a row, but I just didn't have a good time. Also upon arrival, they require you to buy a drink before you can even look around; a staff member stood over us with a menu, pointing to a sign stating that a purchase is mandatory for entry. I will think twice if I ever come back again.
