About Acqua Sauna Blackpool

Acqua is the most after-hours-focused of Blackpool’s gay saunas. Alongside the standard sauna, hot tub, private cabins and social areas, Friday and Saturday sessions run right through until 6am, making it part of the town’s late-night gay circuit as much as a daytime spa.\n\nThe venue is close to Blackpool North station and the main gay village. Towels are standard attire, though shorts or underwear are also allowed, and first-time visitors can ask reception to explain the setup.

What to expect

A gay men’s sauna with hot tub, cabins and unusually late Friday/Saturday sessions.

Nice experience, warm welcome and was shown around. Not mad busy but everyone was friendly and chatty. Facilities were very good .was generous with the chloride in the jacuzzi… very clean and love the free tea/coffee area. I would happy recommend it and would visit again.

I wouldn’t normally take the time to leave a review, but after recently seeing an advert from Aqua Sauna sharing another visitor’s review which claimed the venue had been fully refurbished and was now “unrecognisable”, we decided to give it another chance while visiting Blackpool for Pride. Unfortunately, our experience did not reflect that claim. On arrival, it became clear that the entrance and upper levels appeared completely unchanged from our previous visit. A new basement area has been created, and to be fair, that part was much, much better. However, the existing facilities — particularly the wet areas, showers, sauna and jacuzzi — were visibly very dirty. What was most disappointing was the apparent lack of any effective cleaning regime throughout the venue, especially in the wet areas. These parts certainly did not feel refurbished; in fact, they seemed completely unchanged and, honestly, barely cleaned since our last visit some years ago. While we could overlook some of the facilities being dated, the lack of general cleanliness is simply unacceptable. This is what has compelled me to leave a review. In my view, the advertising suggesting the venue has been transformed is misleading. The new basement area may be an improvement, but the core facilities still feel dated, poorly maintained and unhygienic. Overall, it made for a very unpleasant visit, and we certainly won’t be returning.

Love going here. Lots of time and money has been spent on bringing the place bang up to date. If you've not been for a year or two, you won't recognise the place. Friendly staff and a wide range of customers, young to old, twinks to bears and beyond. Much less cliquey than W3 sauna. Free towel exchanges, free tea and coffee, discounts for members. What more could you want!?

Extremely disappointed with my visit to Aqua Sauna in Blackpool. The place was visibly not clean and felt neglected throughout. For somewhere that should prioritise hygiene and comfort, it fell far below basic expectations. The staff were cold, unfriendly, and completely unwelcoming. It genuinely doesn’t take much to smile or show basic customer service, but instead I felt like an inconvenience from the moment I walked in. They looked like they didn’t want to be there and gave off the impression they simply didn’t care. That alone sets a negative tone straight away. To make matters worse, the venue itself was cold and almost completely empty, apart from a couple of old men. There was no atmosphere at all, just an uncomfortable, lifeless environment. Save your money. It’s not worth the effort, and I definitely won’t be returning.
