AxelBeach Miami(permanently closed)

This is probably one of the best places I've ever stayed. Every staff member is so accommodating and nice. We stayed here twice this year, before and after our cruise. The location cannot be beat with a small piece of beach dedicated for the hotel chain, just 2 blocks East. You are in the middle of everything. Marlon was extra helpful, replacing the water in the gym and just being overall cheery. I love that it is renovated from the 1940's but needs just a touch up from all the moisture. It is what it is. And overall, it's awesome!!!! Thank you to all the staff!!!

We enjoyed this warm somewhat small hotel environment. Nice and easily accessible outdoor pool with cool floaties, food and drinks.The beach is quite nearby and chairs included. We’re sad to see that it will be closing at the end of March, to be expanded. Lots of restaurants , buses, a shopping mall within walking distance. The cleaning staff could do a more thorough job in the rooms. Fun bars and night clubs nearby too, and a botanical garden and Holocaust memorial

This is a budget hotel in a good location. It has potential to be really nice, but it’s in need of a renovation. The room was big (even though the bathroom was tiny) but the walls were rough and generally everything was worn and tired. The reception is not very welcoming or attractive. Loud club music plays even at the 8am breakfast. The pool area is nice and the pool is huge, with a hot tub too. Breakfast included was great, but most days it’s only eggs on toast with nothing else.

I stayed here three nights in early December. I thought it was a good basic hotel. It was clean, I had a king size bed even though I reserved a queen, and it was right in the middle of everything I wanted to be at. Clean but small bathroom, that's fine. They do not have microwaves available at all for guests, either in the rooms or at the front desk, which I found to be inconvenient, almost every hotel I stay at nowadays has a microwave to warm up takeout restaurant food.The Front Desk person was very nice. I would stay here again.

We have stayed the 2nd time here. This time it was the worst experience for a long time at this hotel. The 1st time we had a much better experience. We have been at other Axel locations before. First of all we needed to wait until 3pm to check in. Overall the rooms really need to be renovated and are not clean, you can see the dust everywhere. Dirt particles and stains everywhere, on skirting boards, the floor, bathtub, even the bed sheets had stains. The toilet paper was not refilled with a backup toilet roll and make up wipes have never been refilled Breakfast: This is really the worst of all. You pay for a room with breakfast and only get as complimentary dish, toast bread and scrambled eggs (egg substitute). Jam, butter and coffee with different milk/ oat milk. Anything else costs extra. I would not book the breakfast, you do not feel welcome and the staff is unfriendly and does not treat you as a guest! Furthermore we needed to pay extra for phone costs for 2 calls which was a local phone number. Overall we would never book the hotel again due to the poor cleanliness and the absolutely poor service at reception and breakfast. Only positive points: location is top, and the Sun loungers on the beach are free of charge

I'm giving this hotel five stars because while it isn't perfect, I had a really enjoyable stay. It's adult's only, so no screaming kids in the pool...which...
